Long Time Player thoughts

I have been playing this game since it's debut ,many seasons ago!
I have used all kinds of settings under different names and online mode is where I roam. Every so often we get a "DEAD BALL" era season where for some reason pitching is much more dominant than hitting no matter the settings. And sadly the show 2021 is looking like another dead ball season. I love great pitching, but it just seems very unbalanced against the hitters online this year. 2018 was the worst so far for this problem. But this season might be just as bad.Would love to hear thoughts of other long time players!

I'm hoping once hitting cards catch up when we get the big gun 99's like Babe Ruth and such, it will even out

You’re just referring to online play right ? Because offline the game is good overall, however it does need some gameplay patches, fielding errors happen way too much, has a few bogging moments also during cutscenes on the PS4 … I like the new simulation option for gameplay, makes the hitting harder, more realistic… I can’t comment anything about online play this year, haven’t gone online yet ….

This is how hard it is to hit online, I have been using only veteran settings for hitting and pitching, the players facing me are also using this setting. And still every game ends 1-0 or 2-1.
I love low scoring games but damm it gets boring when every game is like that. I guess we have to go with rookie settings online to get more offense? Sad. -
This game is playing like absolute dog [censored] for me online. It is to the point of not even being fun. When you enjoy custom practice on legend more than online play, there is a problem.
Doing custom practice on legend thinking this would be fun as it is so smooth. However, online they need to match me with Jimmy stealing McDonald's wifi. Yesterday was the only fun day I've had in two weeks. Time to play another game.

I'm still waiting for a good explanation on the differences between competitive mode and simulation mode.

That's sad. The check swing is horrible this year. Online Umps calling 99% strikes on every swing!

I also have been playing since THE SHOW's debut .. this year , strictly an online rated game player . pitching does seem to have an edge but I feel baserunners also have an unfair advantage . so does the bunting play , very often the pitcher doesn't seem to be able to get to 1st base fast enough if at all. the relay throws from the outfield are waaayy too slow too . but back to the pitching , I think it's more of a lack of batting than great pitching because even though the hitter is missing the ball at least 30% of the time the pitch doesn't go to the spot where it was intended ???

Hitting is put your pci near the ball, swing and hope it comes up Yahtzee. Seriously I just played a guy I one hit. He struck out 22 times. 22. Could you guess his one hit was a circle change they made me float for a perfect perfect no doubt shot lol. We have so little control in this game but I suppose it is what it is. All their other stuff is keeping them afloat for now. They do a good job there.
