I am sure people have brought this up, but I really hope SDS makes this change for MLBTS20.

Locked into Tiers in RS as you progress.

We have all complained about All Star Hell on this forum, and that it is a grind just to get out of All Star and get to Division and CS and WS. Now...i'm not a WS player. Most seasons i make it to Division, then get knocked right back to WC where i have made a home for myself all season.

but i have gotten considerably better over the year, this being my first playing DD, and have a 200-16something record i believe. but what gets me is that...when i hit Division, if i lose one game, BAM im knocked down back to all star and i have to keep playing one game win, one game lose, for 3 weeks and end up the season at like 665 or whatever.

if i make it to Division, on HOF...KEEP ME THERE! even if i played 20 games and lost every single one, you would not get put back to spring training, you'd stay in RS level. So why not keep HOF level tiers locked and if you hit division, stay at 700 and not any lower.

the benefit to a player like me is, i can get practice on the higher difficulty, adjust to the pitch speeds, and get better! practice mode and CotW are not good ways to get better at playing online. i'm sorry. not have to constantly struggle to maintain in the 700s and hope I have the skill to keep moving up and stay playing others on HOF.

whats the downside to this? seriously? lets say you have maybe 50% of the casual players able to make DS, more than likely they would stay in the low 700s and not adjust to the pitch speeds, and then just play BR or events or some other mode until the season resets. But if they wanted to keep playing, they'd get game reps, adjust, and ultimately get better. and...oh this will be good for SDS...they'll KEEP PLAYING THE GAME ALL YEAR.

    thoughts?

I think there needs to be "consequence" or a down side to losing so I don't think you should be able to stay in divisions if you don't win. However, an option for you might be in casual mode you can actually set the difficulty that you want so you could play games on hall of fame there.

Dudefood had an alternate method for doing RS that could be interesting.

RS should be one pitch speed across all divisions, as you win you play better competition, that’s how it should work imo.

I agree that pitch speeds changing with every division is not good. I realize that there needs to be graded difficulties, but keeping pitch speed constant (provided fastballs are relevant at that speed) is essential.

There are so many variables at play with pitching and hitting outcomes, and I think eliminating some of them would be good.

I don't mind pitch speeds being different, but there need to be less tiers to them. HOF speed should be on PR, WC, DS, CS and maybe change to legend at 900 or 1000. I've personally not made WS yet, but I've gotten close a couple times but not had much time to grind out CS. I'm at 823 now, which is the highest I've been with this much time left in the season. I'd love to test things out on legend, but I'm sure I'm gonna get smoked. Lol

That is the easiest fix, make 500-900 HOF, 900+ Legend, anything under 500 all star. Simple fix

Yep. It would make it at least feel like we aren't stuck in certain levels. I do think it shouldn't be as easy to fall back to another tier though either. If you make DS currently, you should have to lose at least two games before falling out. Also, I think the higher team rating should dictate difficulty level. Team moving up should earn it, not have the team ranked higher feel like they're moving back to play someone.

i've tried that, but this late in the season, i'd be waiting forever to find a casual game, as most players are either playing BR, Ranked, or an event, or just offline in general.

i do agree there should be consequence to losing. like others have said, make HOF being over several tiers rather than just DS and CS. And im not saying season starts i should be in 700 because i earned it last season. I'll do the grind. But for someone like me who needs to get better in a ranked environment with ranked points on the line, if im stuck playing back and forth on AS and HoF i have to grind out more games than not to get anywhere above where ive been stuck because I dont have the mental reps to play on HoF against good players. i wont ever get better if im playing people i can easily put up 6-8 runs or they quit after the first 3 innings because i'm besting them.

an example of this is i think i went 7-2 to hit DS and now im like 19-12 or something. And i'm not complaining about losing. those loses were either because i lost to someone better than me, or because of just the randomness of AS difficulty and i couldn't overcome it, but its on me.

What might actually help is finding some better players and just adding them as a friend and asking to play friendlies, this is usually the best time for it too as there's nothing really left to grind for/do so people are usually pretty willing to play friendlies.

I would loveee if we could play off the higher persons difficulty level.
