Ugh. I invested very heavily in 8 players I thought could get the bump from silver to gold. For each one I bought anywhere between 150-600 cards. None of them were upgraded. Now I have to sit on all that for another two weeks and hope these guys keep performing.
I don’t understand why Gausman gets bumped to diamond while others who have a better track record and comparable stats this year are still silver.

Eh, this update was the toughest call of the year so far, in my opinion.
I don't agree with you about Gausman though. Aside from deGrom, he's been about as untouchable as any pitcher in baseball this year. He definitely deserved the upgrade. I had a few qualms with some other attribute changes such as Alex Bregman, Carson Kelly and Jose Abreu going down. They've been way too liberal with the downgrades to Abreu whenever he goes into a small slump, it's ridiculous.
I will say that if you invested in Jesse Winker or Kris Bryant, you set yourself up for failure (Bryant to a lesser degree). Both of those guys don't have room to go up in the areas they are dominating in -- which is vs. RHP for Winker and vs. LHP for Bryant. I have no idea why people don't understand that.

I think they were right to wait another update with Semien. I have no doubt that he'll keep it up and go diamond in the next update, though.

This update was made to screw people over. Pigs get fed...hogs get slaughtered.

At least he got the position change and still moved in the right direction. Imo having him prove it for another two weeks is somewhat fair

I don’t understand how aggressive they were with abreu either. I get that numbers are what they are, and last year doesn’t hold too much stock, but give the reigning MVP a little slack

so it's safe to say that SDS has completely thrown out the 3 year average for diamonds? Seems they just pick the hottest pitchers/batter for 2 weeks and upgrade them to diamond. Any diamond that struggles for 2 weeks is downgraded right away. If Gausman can be a diamond when only this year has he been good so can Ohtani. But I think part of upgrading Gausman is that Giants only have 1 diamond and they have top 3 best record in the league. Kinda weird to have a top 3 team most your players are golds and silvers.

I had many, many Bryants and Missed, but bought dozens more for a tad over 1500 after he missed, so hopefully he stays hot. I hit very nice on Glasnow.

As the guy above mentioned, it will be very hard for him to go diamond. He is hitting very well against lefties and his stats already reflect that. He is just average against righties. He would need to start hitting righties better to get the upgrade to those stats and go diamond. But if he stays hot, it will likely force SDS hands and they will find a way to make him diamond

Has he really been that bad defensively? That is whats holding him back. Plus his OPS against righties is in line with guys like Juan Soto, Mookie Betts, and Trea Turners total OPS.

Semien hasnt been that good for long enough. He was good for May, that is it. Not April, and not June, so far. Let the guy prove something first. He is already pretty high. I think his last season with Oakland is the reason he is already as high as he is. He was better that year than he has been this year so far.

I think Kimbrel will get to diamond for the cubbies. Hes been insane and starting to walk a lot less batters

Im not sure about his defense, havent looked. And he will likely go diamond soon but just saying why it may be more difficult or take longer

Why not just flip cards. You could have enough stubs to do whatever you want by now. You gamble, you lose. I flip a lot and got the collections done. It's not hard to do.

I agree it’s not hard. I hate it though. It’s so tedious. A couple weeks back I flipped for 20 minutes and made about 25,000 stubs. It killed a part of my soul though lol. After that I was like I’m not doing this anymore, I’ll just invest in silvers that are around 100-300 stubs a piece and when they go gold I’ll really cash in huge. As long as they don’t get downgraded to bronze, I’ll at least be able to get back my investment if they stop performing and I don’t think they’ll turn gold anymore.
I will say I saw someone suggest buying a ton of bronzes at 25 stubs a piece and then selling them for 125-200 the next day. I can see how that is possible with some of these cards and I might have the patience to do that. If I’m making 100 stubs per card I only need to do 100 to make 10,000 stubs (not counting the tax), and it would only take me a few minutes to put in all those orders.

In April me and my buddies all went heavy on Glasnow, knowing his talent, underlying metrics, and how underrated he was in the game. I owned 222 of him, the most between us had approx 450... We bought when he was silver. We are all millionaires now... Well, were, I spent mine all last night completing NL and buying all the 42 legends haha.
You need to be patient with investments and your comment on Gausman is very unfair, he was solid last year, probably gold level -- Only Woodruff and deGrom have comparable stats to him especially when you look at how many innings he's gone. Dude has been outstanding... 1.27 ERA in 77 innings with a 0.76 WHIP and 10+ K9 -- if you are arguing against that you are just upset right now or if it is sincere you just don't know what you're talking about.

Yeah, I understand, although I'm really weird; I like it.

I bought a few low diamonds to finish collections send they were then down graded. I could've saved like 40k if I waited 1 day, lol.
