Was hoping someone could offer some information on what each of contribute to?
I know HR/9 was basically removed from having any impact but I really don't know what the impact of the others are.
Thank you.
H/9 competes against hitters contact rating to determine the inner PCI size. Higher H/9, the smaller the PCI.
BB/9 I think helps with control but it also just might be a sim stat. Not entirely sure.
K/9 is supposed to help generate swings/misses instead of foul tips.
Which batter attribute contributes to foul tips? I’m assuming it’s discipline, contact or vision.
Contact is for inner PCI/perfect perfect icons
Vision is that outer pci that hits everything on Allstar or lower (so I'd say this is your foul tip machine)
Discipline is supposed to be the ability to successfully check your swing but I dont know if that even works as intended since I get wrung up on 90% of mine regardless of what animation/feedback I get.Discipline no longer determines your ability to check swing since this year, pure player input. Discipline also in the past determined the likelihood of a borderline call going your way; don’t know if that’s still true.
No idea but maybe. The whole user input thing still feels false though since I definitely swing/terrible check swings on some of the lightest button taps I've ever made....but it is what it is.
The margin for error is super thin; most success I have is if I check on pitches I’m tracking the trajectory with the PCI or pitches down and in. Middle, out, in, up, 99% swing.

I goofed, but BB/9 does reduce the PAR size.

You kind of have to get started to catch up to an inside sinker and of course check swing if it turns out to be a slider out of the zone. Would have been a nice balance to the current pitching.

This is not quite correct.
K/9 reduces the size of the hitter's PCI
H/9 induces more weak contact on hits
BB/9 affects the PAR region of the pitcher
I would side with the H/9 reducing the PCI crowd; Gary Carter on veteran with Gallegos 117 H/9 from IE had the really small. Also it makes more sense for K/9 to impact the outer PCI, AKA survival zone

I think they over corrected the check swing problem. On HOF with pitch speeds on top of all these pitchers throwing 98-102 if you don’t sit fast you’re gonna miss and then when they throw you a change up in the dirt and you recognize that and tap you always get rung up. It’s pretty frustrating especially playing against Grochett.

I agree that it isn’t always based on user input. I’ve been rung up on the lightest check swing ever and have also been given the check swing when I almost fully swung.

I goofed, but BB/9 does reduce the PAR size.
I don't believe so, that is control. BB9 is the forgiveness/penalty of your pitching input accuracy/inaccuracy. Always had been in the past unless they changed it this year.
Would need to check the guide in this year's game under help within gameplay.

K/9 adjusts the timing window. Meaning need better timing.
H/9 adjust on how many good placements find themselves as hits. IE good placement from batter might draw more line drives or hits into ground than someone with low h/9 -

I've tested this myself and it's been tested by others. All you have to do is create players and adjust their attributes.
