Can't Sub Pitcher?
-
Been playing offline until I build up a semi-decent squad.
In Conquest mode, if I bring in a reliever, pitch to a batter or two, and then try to bring in another reliever, there is no option to bring him in. I can only sit the guy warming up in the pen.
I first noticed this after bringing in a lefty to face a lefty, but walked him. So I tried to bring in a righty for the next batter, but couldn't. I thought maybe the "glitch" was that the first batter didn't count since it technically as not an at-bat. But, after the next batter struck out, I still couldn't bring in a reliever.
Just now, I decided to see what would happen if I tried bringing in a reliever for the second batter of the game. Couldn't do it.
Seems like a reliever cannot be brought in within the same inning of bringing in the previous pitcher...?

With the new MLB rules, a pitcher must face 3 batters unless the inning ends. Same in this game. No more 1 batter relievers

Holy smokes. How did I not know that? Lol
Side note: Don't like that rule.
Thanks!

I think it's lame that I can't take out a pitcher before he even throws out a pitch. I'm tired of the showdown missions where they force a pitcher with sub 60 H/9, K/9, BB/9 and HR/9
That's been a real baseball rule forever. Always had to face one batter. Apparently that has recently changed to three lol.

Then allow me to choose the next pitcher, instead of forcing them on me

It pretty chooses your best pitcher. Thats why its not a bad idea to have at least a silver SP and RP

Far more than half the time I did not get my best pitcher, but a bronze like Josh Tomlin. Only when it is a save challenge does it give me an arm like Betances or Leclerc

Well yeah if you’re in the latter part of the game, it’ll be your best reliever. If the mission is “get x hits and x runs in the first 3 innings, it’ll be a starter of course

I've noticed, if it's in the first inning, it's not your best starter, but whoever is in the #1 position. You can change who is there. If it's a save situation, yes it's usually your closer. 8th inning, whoever is the Set Up man

Exactly this. After the original draft, they’re in order of best rated to worst. When/if I draft a SP, I make sure to put him in 1st position. That way, he’s always the one on the mound during the start of games missions

Yeah I've switched the 70 SP I drafted with the automatic 72 cause i don't like their Pitch Repertoir (SP)
