Not really if he got glitched on. You either guess right on a pitch out or you lose because even foul bunts or misses score the run now.

I mean I had a guy do it the other day on an 0-2 count on a pitch I literally threw 8” below the zone and he had Dominic Smith up and the first two pitches were full swing. What should I have done better?
That attempt by him should have had a 99.999999999999% fail rate. Never say never I guess.

Unaware of a glitch my bad..
I meant combat bunts by playing the infield in and slide stepping if needed -

I meant combat bunts by playing the infield in and slide stepping if neededThe glitch is 100% successful too. The run scores on foul balls and misses with no gameplay opportunity to stop it. The only way to prevent it is with guessing right on a pitch out (and even then the catcher has to make the tag) or getting the batter to pop out.

Well... maybe a little more than 1 in 999 Trillion anyway.

if its a 2 strike count and less than 2 outs a foul ball from a bunt is technically in play if you guys didn't know... most people don't know that.

Sure, if it’s caught you could tag up. In this case you score even when the bunt lands foul.

I think what he is saying is on an 0-2 with 1 out , the batter bunts foul for a strikeout but because its only the 2nd out the ball is still in play(like a wild pitch).

that is what i was trying to relay. if the bunt lands foul its a live ball like if it were a wild pitch.

You got a source for that? I'm pretty sure it's a dead ball but I could be wrong and can't really find anything from a widely known source that says either way.

I asked my friend whos an umpire because this same situation happened in one of my games and I told him about it and he said that its a obscure rule nobody really knows about because it rarely ever pops up. So take that for what you will i guess.... could be wrong
-
A bunt foul on 2 strikes is an out in any situation. No matter how many outs... And it's a dead ball.

Your umpire friend is wrong and it would actually come up pretty frequently in the NL.

Correct. Any foul ball that is not caught is considered a dead ball. It’s not an obscure rule. It’s stated in the dead ball section of any baseball rule book. Being a bunt does not change that rule
