Tatis won NL POTM. No way in h3ll so they give Tatis another OP POTM card like last year. He’s the cover boy so he’ll get a finest card at the end of the year as long as he stays healthy

Semien gets the lightning card. Tatis doesn't get a lightning card unless it's a 99, which this will not be. If Semien doesn't get the lightning card it will be whatever NL pitcher wins the real life award(no disrespect to Rich hill but no one is doing the collection for him)

We are only in June. 99 Finest cards wouldn't be out until November....while it would be out of the norm for SDS for sure....there are a lot of reasons why making Tatis the lightning card for May make sense for SDS. Now the he has won NL player of the Month, even more reasons. Tatis is the cover boy, home town future legend, and superstar. having a 95 or 96 Tatis right now would not prevent a 99 4 months from now.....and would likely help sell more stubs and games for SDS. Last year, they came out with a 99 Trout early as well.....for collections. There are good arguments to both sides....it will be interesting to see what they choose. One thing for sure though....if Tatis isnt the lightning, he wont be getting any other POTM cards.....

whoever it is, they'll likely be needed for the final collection reward, so I'll just lock them in. They are all basically free anyways, so no harm no foul for locking them in. It will be a good card regardless of who it is....at least for a little while
