Not the greatest hitter ever but greatest performance I ever saw live was Eric Davi[censored]ting 3 hrs against philly at Veterans stadium.

Are you skipping to the final showdown and then losing after getting up to 12-12? Or are you completing every mission along the way and then River Dancing on top of your controller up through your last out? I don't see how you could be that unlucky that many times in a row.
I did my first TA2 showdown this morning. The "get a HR" missions were a little annoying at first because my top pick was Damon, but I only failed one mini mission on my way to the final showdown and then beat the boss with 14 outs to spare. It's really not too different from the TA1 showdown.

be patient at the dish my friend - i have won all of mine, taking the time, never rushing - i don't find it difficult at all and some friends of mine are just going to the mini boss, then going right to the final to save time on the showdown runs
pick only power hitters, use only exit velocity perks or 'clear for takeoff' diamond perk is the best overall, put people in whatever position on the field it doesn't matter - hope this helps you
