FIX CONTACT SWING!

I haven't used contact swing, so I have no opinion on it. I'm normie all day. But, why don't you just use contact swing if you fear it so much?

Neither or you have any credibility. Contact swing should not produce HR outside strikeout with 100+ exit velos. Go back to your CPU games
Hmm. 111 posts vs 2.3k posts. Who has no credibility?
The same results happened last year and nobody was screaming about it. I’ve hit contact swing home runs with Griffey jr for years.
-
My god, I guess I'll test it.
I'll go home after work (where i test software all day) and play several games.
1 against the CPU using my DD squad, 1 against the CPU using the worst team in game, 1 against a friend using my DD team, 1 against a friend using a crappy team, 1 RS game with my DD squad, and 1 online ranked game using a crappy team.
I'll use only contact swing for every pitch.
When I'm done I'll know if it is broken or not. -
Bigger PCI and no exit velo reduction. It's a factual issue.
-
Pretty sure Trout or any of the power hitters in mlb can choke up not swing as hard and still produce a homerun. Everyone that's weak I contact swing with doesn't hit me homeruns even with perfect perfect. Watching mlb literally almost every game has this mixture a couple homeruns a few bloop hits and a couple doubles in the gap.

Definitely nothing wrong with contact swings, they’re not overpowered at all...

At the beginning of the season this board was flooded with post after post of "Gameplay is great! Fix the servers!!" Now that the servers seem to be fixed, or at least good enough for posts complaining about them to be rare, suddenly gameplay isn't so great. Which seems odd to me since no changes have been made to it.
If they do "fix" contact hitting, the community still won't be happy. You'll just move the goalposts again and find something else to be unhappy about.
Yeah no one is ever happy. I've played every single MLB The Show that has ever came out and I'm rarely if ever disappointed. Are there things that bug me or I would like to see different maybe? Of course. But it is a quality game. I play basically every sports game out there year in and year out but I'd say The Show is the best of the bunch.
The more time the game is out, the more people find to complain about.
I’m not disappointed by the gameplay. I really like the game, contact swing needs to be balanced, that’s the only thing that bugs me.

You guys are full of it. I ran my tests last night and contact swing sux.
Even on legend difficulty the PCI is no bigger than a normal swing and I didn't get a single hit using it.
I went back to normal and power swing and was crushing it. -

I went back to normal and power swing and was crushing it.There's definitely a massive increase in size yet it still yields the same bonuses as normal/power swing.
I have only noticed it in ranked seasons. Other solo modes it was fine.

Pretty sure I missed a day but day #10

The comments are funny... the developers have acknowledged during their 2nd team affinity stream that they are working on a fix for contact swings as they are not working as intended. Now they did not say exactly what that means... but I have noticed that upwards of 90% of my opponents only contact swing now. I was wondering how they were getting such nasty exit velos on contact swings that weren't even squared out... It does appear that there is little to no velo reduction penalty for using a contact swing... so it pretty much gives you the same exit velo as a normal swing but with a much larger PCI... I started using it in the HOF event right now.... dingers galore... even with guys that don't have much power and playing at low elevation ballparks.... Again, the developers have acknowledged it and are going to make it more inline with the past few years..... but considering they said this weeks ago and they haven't patched anything is telling that they are confused what the exact issue is. 118 exit velo on contact (protect swings) is absurd. There is supposed to be a give and take with each swing type and right now there is no reason to not swing contact unless you want to put yourself at a major disadvantage. I think they should disable contact swings until they sort it out....

Day # 4. FIX THIS GARBAGE
Dude just go play a different game. Seriously, There are so many great games on Playstation. You’d be ALOT happier. This stuff here...It’s just getting weird & creepy.
How on earth is it creepy?
Why do so many people run into any thread criticizing SDS and get offended?
-
The issue is that perfect perfects act the same as normal swings but you can foul off everting until you get good contact.
Even with normal swings it can be an issue but contact swings make it worse. I’ve hit 110 mph exit velo with trout in contact swings…should not happen.
-
I agree that hitting needs to be tuned tremendously. In my opinion it starts with the foul balls, there's far too many opportunities to record an out per AB for the perfect/perfect or good/good swings to go for a free out. At least make a defender take the hit away
There's really only 2 swings in regular baseball, when a guy wants to make contact or he's going for launch angle..
I literally had no idea that's why everyone's PCI was huge. Circle swinging until they fix it, thanks guys.

On the bright side there are a lot of trash players in division and championship series that abuse it. I find even with contact swings they are easy wins. A lot of them still have trash discipline and you can get bad contact just out of the zone.
The issue is when you run into a good player that contact swings the whole game.
