But you're on to something there with all-starI mean, if it's a full season, then there should theoretically be zero difference between an award and all-star card (outside of card art), right?

I think there based on how the player got into the all-star games which would make them a 1st half card yeah

It's an All-Star card.
Let's not forget that Barry Larkin's 1990 has been a Breakout, a Postseason, and an Awards card all in different years.
Award cards (like Signature, Prime and presumably Milestone) are supposed to be a player's best card of the year. They've obviously got plans for Ripken to make another appearance this year which is why his 91 card wasn't designated an Awards card.
