Donnie baseball was my favorite player when I was young. I know Bay or Lee are great cards but couldnt help pulling trigger on Mattingly

He is also going to be the least taken out of the 3, don't lock him into any collections, in a month he might be worth 120k like Fernando became. (probably not)

If I had to guess him and bay will stay around 40k unless there's another collection. I chose him too btw. I think Lee will go up to around 70k. He's the best available bullpen arm at the moment. Wagner stays around 60, familia is around 40 but they don't have his fork ball

Bay is a complete trash 95!!! His swing is garbage and his attributes don’t match the results you get with that card. Smith and Donnie are far and away the pick here.

I went Smith. Seemed the best of the 3 and OF is generally loaded with cards so I dont know if I'd even use Bay. The game just gave us POTM Ohtani and Buxton. Plus there is a number of solid LS OF's as well that work (Yelich, Soto, Trout, Acuna, etc etc) not to mention all the 42 cards (preorder and TA1s).
I want to buy Mattingly at some point being a yankee fan. Loved him as a kid even though it was towards the end of his career. I think his bat is good enough as a bench bat plus late inning defensive replacement if required (Can also play 3rd lol...and LF i think).

That's a little hyperbolic. Mattingly may not be the best 1st basemen in the game, but it's still a pretty good card. The contact and vision are solid, 83 power vs. righties isn't going to set the world on fire but it's fine, he has diamond defense, and I've always liked his swing. I'm currently using Ortiz but I have no problem mixing in Mattingly.
That being said, I did pick Lee Smith first since I think he is a better option, but I bought Mattingly and Bay when their prices dipped to around 30K.

Mattingly hits way above his attributes, very very usable swing and great PCI....absolutely crushed for me last year. If Vlad Jr wasn't playing out of his a** I'd have no problem running Donnie out there.

Fernando is a top 5 pitcher in the game. Donnie baseball might be fun to use in Events and such but isn't going to see much use especially with the announcements for TA2 cards Gehrig and now Thome. My main point was that his price isn't going to shoot up to 100k like Valenzuela's did. He was likely the least picked, sure. But I feel like less people are doing the boss collections then years past and people aren't going to realize how good he is and buy him up like Fernando

Hey Donnie is a Goat. Plays way above his stats has a glitchy swing

So far I have hit the best with Mattingly but his defense is terrible mostly cause I cant use him at first base so he and bay are both defensive liabilities. I will give them 100 at bats but i dont see either being used much longer

Ya there is nothing good about using him at 3rd but his bat has been very good for me.

I said (probably not) for a reason. Fernando is a pretty just okay pitcher when you aren't on hall of fame, which 98% of players arent at.

Wanted too but my bullpen was lacking, hoping Smith will help me out. Think I'm gonna miss Mattingly though, I have Hoskins but struggle with him.

3rd base is listed as a secondary position, but he is a left handed thrower.
Had his card for a minute. Put him in the lineup, then compared his stats to Goodrim. Mattingly’s fielding drops to 5 at 3b. 5.
