This doesn't happen every online game, but any tips on how to counter against players that just try base stealing on every single pitch with baserunners that have high-90s speed?

Honestly I get tired of trying to throwing over to 1st all of the time and they will beat out the catchers throw when I do eventually decide to pitch to the batter. I am hoping that I am just missing a basic concept.

Every time they take an extra step throw over even if its 50 times.and if it does wind up double digit times do a report at end game about excessive lead offs. cauae maybe if it gets reported as griefing they put a fix for it cause 3 years of suggestions and emails havent worked.

If you slide step and throw high and/or outside hard you can throw dudes out.

My issue is the [censored] catcher not popping up some times to throw the runner out.

It seems like most players don't even try to steal without an extra lead, so I make sure to watch them and throw over every time they take one. Like last year I had a game where I literally made 10 straight pickoff attempts before the other player got the hint. You might get a steal on me, but you're not getting those extra steps.

If you use strike zone 3 camera view for pitching, you can see them take an extra step off 2nd. If you set your SS to hold at 2nd base, pick offs work every time.

Prioritise having a catcher with a decent arm strength and accuracy over his hitting ability. Throw fastballs high and outside on the first pitch. Slide step.

Throwing over uses stamina. If you throw over 50 times in a row, your pitcher will be in the red in no time. Stepping off won't drain stamina. Pickoffs at least seem to be a little better this year as I've been able to get a few runners, but they still favor the runner far too much since the CPU dives back for the user. Personally, I think if you take an extra step you should be required to actually hit the button to dive back online. There should also be a chance of injury like back in 17. There needs to be more risk for the runner to prevent 20 minute long standoffs.

While it's annoying and I hate people that take an extra step with every runner on every pitch, SDS won't consider that griefing and reporting it won't get you anywhere.

This isn't saying much but I've already picked off more baserunners that take an extra step lead (2) than I did the last 3 cycles combined. Maybe they changed some things on pickoff attempts. I don't know but it seems we at least have a chance now.

Report? "Excessive lead offs" is a thing? lol. I didn't know this was a reportable offense. On what basis is this against the rules? If I have a fast guy on 1st/2nd, I'm taking that extra step every time....and I may or may not steal, just depends on the situation.

I mean, if the guy is 99 speed/steal....not much you can do about it besides slide step and have a great defensive catcher behind the plate. I've throw out Lofton quite a few times. I think the game does a decent job of making it so that 99 speed/steal guys aren't 100% for sure stolen bases.
