TURN OFF ASSISTED BASERUNNING!
-
There is absolutely no reason we shouldnt have a choice to have this set to manual! Because of the dumbed down baserunning AI, an 88 Speed runner on 2b couldnt score on a clear double in the gap because they keep running back to the base!!!
-
Dude you could override it easily by holding down L1 after ball is hit But when it comes to over running bases then getting caught out there tryin to go back I’ve been on the wrong end of that plenty of times

Really not trying to come across as a smart alec i'm just assuming you are new to game and don't know the settings or controls possibly?
You can change it to default and then you can control each runner individually by moving L stick to corresponding runner and then use corresponding button of what you want runner to do. Hope this helps!
-
I have it set to that. Im not new to the game at all and this is nothing new either with this game. I dont want it set to default I want it set so when I send runners on a clear hit they dont run back to their base or just stay there and watch. I know all about controlling individual runners with left stick. They resist it!

No, you can’t, you can smash L1 till the buttons broken and the runner will ignore it and go back to second and wait till the ball lands. You can’t override it with selecting the runner either. It’s a broken mechanic and I’m sure was a good thought in initial planning, but it’s infuriating when in a close game and you can see it’s a gapper and the runner refuses to leave second.
-
In a show down last night, I gapped one with runners on 2nd and 3rd. I spam L1 and both runners take off. Then inexplicably, the runner on his way home turns around and heads back to third. The cpu then commences to throw to third and outs both runners. It looked like something from a blooper reel.
-
The one that happens the most to me is selecting the guy running from second, I see his dot being highlighted and press X to send him home; nope I have to press 4-5 times and it registers only once he has stopped at 3rd. Now it’s a race to get him back to 3rd to avoid an easy out or a rundown. Happens only 2nd to home; not out of the box to 2nd or 1st to 3rd. With all my controllers who work just fine. Annoying. And the single L1 press online where the guy goes 1st to home for whatever reason.

Thank you so much! I hate when people make me feel insane for saying this. I know its not only me that goes through this. Its MADDENING!!!

Whats even crazier is not the resistance or the nonresponse, they will literally RUN BACK to their bases lol. But like I said on the flip side, you can have a runner on 3rd and tap the ball to the mound and WITHOUT sending the runner on 3rd he goes himself and gets easily thrown out at home lol.
-
They will not give us manual control of anything. That is one thing missed from MVP baseball. You could do manual baserunning, and fielding. Here it is either assist or auto
-
Hold down the LB button.
-
Yup, lost a game in BR today because of this... was going to be win number 9, but ended up losing in the bottom of the inning. (I was on the mike trout path as well)..
Probably wasn’t going to get to 12, but should’ve had 9.

Sounds like user error to me. Baserunning is 100% in my control, only on the lazy flys and bloopers are they hesitant due to tagging up purposes, but other than that it's works perfect for me.

Note: notice the L1 highlighted yellow and this is a ground ball up the middle with Ortiz on second.

Runners going back to the previous base instead of advancing has been a problem for the past 2 years and I have complained about it numerous times and they do nothing about it........
-
You should watch the replays on runners stopping at third most of the time they're sliding at the base when they shouldn't. It's been going on for years. SDS doesn't give adam about the issue or it would be fixed. P!sses me off to no end when i hit a slow roller up the middle and i tell the runner to go home and he slides at third for no gd reason or they dive back to second. The programming is broken and these a$$hats won't fix it.

The obligatory get good comment. Sigh.
-
Make the switch to classic baserunning. Do this and as long as you avoid using L1 to move runners (ie use only buttons and d-pad), they will do exactly what you want them to every single play.

On the contrare, just pointing out the possibility that people might not understand the baserunning to the fullest. I was merely pointing out i use it the way it's intended and it works. If i was gonna use the "get gud" comment that's what i wouldv'e wrote.

I don't need to watch a video when i know how to use it and it works. Poor attempt at trying to get views on what is probabally an edited video or lacks information that gives whole story.
But thanks for participating!
