LS prices going down?
-
Will the LS prices dip at some point, once more people have completed the collections? I must admit that I find it hard to drop 50k on someone that won't be sniffing my starting lineup. I get that the ultimate rewards are game changers but it's a very steep price to pay, especially compared to the other players I could get on the open market for 1/4 of the price.
I got lucky and packed Trout and Cole to finish the AL but find it unappealing to do the NL at this point. Any hindsight?

This is my first year playing and I am in a very similar situation. I have completed most teams and can complete the big ones without much trouble. But I just have a hard time spending the stubs on some of these that I know I won't play or would rather have a cheaper option of someone I prefer that is not Live Series. I find myself not buying a cheaper card of a player I like because I want to save the funds for LS cards that I won't use. I get the 99's I would miss out on...but I guess being my first year I don't know how important those are long term.

You're not buying the LS card persay. You're buying pieces of Chipper/Ortiz/Soriano.
And yeah, all those collection rewards are going to be important whenever the mega Honus/Trout collection drops mid-year.

The gatekeepers like Trout tend to be expensive year round, but the lower level diamonds will definitely get cheaper. Especially since SDS seems to be including them at the end of the XP reward path for each inning. It may take a while before you see a significant drop since we haven't even had the first stub sale yet. That will cause inflation which will make the market rise quite a bit. As better cards come out and a greater percentage of players have finished the live series collection, prices will drop again even lower than they are now.

So what if you only complete AL or NL...and only end up with one of the 99's and not all three. Asking for a friend...

85-89 will drop a good bit. 90+ not for a while

Will probably need all of them to be eligible. Unless they do something different this year...

That's fine. It's the team collection rewards that give you more progress toward the summer collection anyway. Every card matters

It's your DD, so you can play/earn/collect however you want. That's the beauty.
I'm a "gotta catch 'em all" kind of guy so I'm going to get them regardless.
2 years ago during the last Inning program, you got extra *s if you had collected Pudge,Hornsby & Mantle (that year's Ortiz/Soriano/Chipper). Whether they do that again, who knows. But you've got almost the full year to decide.
