Should pitch location matter more than it does?

Essentially, it seems that good PCI placement always overrides good pitching input or placement. Obviously sometime great pitches are crushed, but There are times I feel pitching becomes nearly impossible against some players because they always get the PCI on the ball.
Essentially I know we want to reward good hitting input, but what about good pitching input? Maybe limit foul balls a bit would help as at bats tend to get extended way too far with unrealistic contact?
I think the problem is really with 2 strikes something definitely changes. It’s usually easy to get ahead in the count 0-2 then once that happens it seems like only their best swing gets put into play, after they foul off 9 random pitches
Conspiracy Theory 101. Plus that is everyone but you, right?

That’s because with 2 strikes people switch to their contact swing

Correct, everyone but me

That really sucks then. You would think that you would get the same imaginary advantage on 0-2 counts as everyone else. Not fair at all.

80% of the players I play miss down the middle
(Including myself)

Man, with pinpoint pitching, let’s not make hitting any harder than it is.
-
The other point is that the advantage is that a well placed pitch is harder to get your pci on without just jamming the stick like a crazy person and getting under it. If you can square up a good pitch it should still be good contact.

Is pinpoint pitching the consensus way to go this year? I’ve always been a pulse guy myself but I’ve wondered if I should consider switching.

To be honest, this is where contact ratings should matter.
Guys with low contact like Joey Gallo should not be as effective at hitting pitches on the black. But a guy like Trout should have better results hitting balls on the black.
Or perhaps vision is the attribute instead of contact, but you get where I am going.

I use pulse and honestly it depends on the pitcher. If they have low BB then even if you’re “good” it can go anywhere.
I won’t change tho. Pitching is my lay back and chill time.
I resume “gaming position” when it’s batting time
-
Yeah I don’t believe people should be able to foul of sliders a foot outside, Curveballs in the dirt, fastball way above the zone, etc.

Haha yup I enjoy the pulse, quick and easy. Agree it can be a little tough with the guys with poor control specs but I’d imagine that is true regardless of what type of pitching you’re using.

This is the part that’s annoying. I can sit there and foul off almost everything....without contact swing. I legit swing at nearly everything and to not get K’d up way more than I do just seems silly.
Pitching well in this game is probably like the 4th or 5th most important part. You could argue it should be #1

Tat is an extremely fair point.

I think that is the biggest issue. There are times a curveball below the zone becomes unusable because they just get fouled off.

To me the more annoying occurrence which happens way too frequently are righty hitters pulling cutters/sliders that are 6 inches off the plate outside down the left field line for home runs. Guys like Tatis do this against me all the time it drives me nuts.
