I really want to take them at their word, but that stuff about this being just 1/4 of a difficulty change is hard to swallow when you watch and play the game.

Honestly, I don’t get it. I can’t imagine they don’t want to get it right. What reason would they have for a crappy product? I’m sure they do want to get it right and make people happy. So, the question becomes do they want it to be good or is it just not possible. I’m not a programmer, so I won’t answer that.

As I played a few games yesterday, I wondered if maybe they’re too worried about the sim aspect. Don’t get me wrong, I want things to be realistic as anyone out there. It’s always bugged me when cards are juiced, etc. I love the realism. But it hit me in the aspect of playing games on veteran and you can’t get the CPU to throw a [censored] strike until a 3-ball count. They want you to wait (honestly, if it’s just rookie or veteran CPU, I don’t want to be patient. I want to play the game and advance), but I played and was forced to be patient and it got me thinking that maybe they are too focused on the sim aspect. Patient online against real people, sure. A 3-inning steal fans conquest game on veteran? Nah, let’s play the game, have a little fun and move on to the next one. And I say this as someone who enjoys/desires more realism.

Playing yesterday my timing was till way off. I actually ditched my Kontrol Freeks and somehow that helped my location of pitching and PCI placement (it should be the opposite). But it helped with the sticks. However, timing was still way off, no matter the level.

Biggest thing I've noticed is SDS definitely nerfed power. Not sure how Judge hits a lazy flyball with good/okay contact & perfect PCI placement (Middle/up)...against Hershiser.

I completely understand where you guys are coming from, and it is harder to hit now. But before, pitching was hard. You had to have perfect timing and placement every pitch, which is really hard to do. I can still hit bombs fine, I think they need to improve the good good though.

Yeah, I hit a perfect/perfect fly ball with Gallo and it didn’t even make it to the warning track. Perfect/perfect liner, ok, I could accept that. But fly ball? No way.

Fielding is a shi.t show as well. Just played a game where the ball went through my fielder 3 separate times. Only 1 of them called an error. I decided not to even ask for a friendly quit. Pitching is probably the biggest improvement they made this year.

The pitching ain’t much to brag about either. Honestly, I don’t see anything good gameplay wise.

Pitching feels like each wind up from my pitcher has a different release window for green. Making it impossible to be consistent, just an input.

Some people just dont get baseball. Real baseball. The hitting sucks because you are trying hit a homerun on the first pitch everytime. There are counts you use power swing. There are counts you have to use regular swing. The pitcher no matter how crappy he is always has the advantage in the first 3 innings. You build his confidence up and your chances of getting hits go down. Remember to take pitches in first 3 innings no matter how good they look. You can start free swinging through 3,4,5,6,7 innings when the pitcher is worn and his confidence is down. The last 2 you want to reapply that technique for bullpen. Best hits always occur on 2-1,3-1. I think everyone just thinks they're suppose to be the best in this game because they use pci. Perfects perfects hits get caught daily in real baseball. Perfect perfect is only contact, not result. Some pitch types cant be hit with perfect perfect but late with okay or early with ok contact. In an actual all star game we dont see 8 homeruns for one team. I guess I'm one of the few that actually enjoys the game. The developers did a great job of making it more realistic. It's not so arcade anymore. If you prefer arcade baseball go back to 19.
