How Important Are Boss Cards? (What is Needed for Summer Collection?)

New player this year and I keep hearing about cards you will need for the summer collection. So, how important are things like Boss cards? My thinking is that selling mine can help me keep working through completing live series. However, I would hate to later find out that not only should I not have sold it, but I should have tracked down the others as well.
Along with that...what things are most important to complete for the Summer Collection?

The cards that you need for that collection are legends and flashbacks (Signature, Awards, Prime, etc).
If I were you I would sell the boss that you get because there are lower overall cards that you can get that have the same value to that collection as the bosses. I would wait till the 3rd Inning program comes out though. Valenzuela was at 30k when the 1st Inning program ended and now he is at 100K.

Boss cards have the same value to that collection as a gold player IMO.

if theres 2 mvp cards for 6k each and the boss mvp card is selling for 40k, sell him and buy the 2x mvp cards and a few stuff like silver rookies etc if you wanna get ready for the summer collection

This is what was needed for Trout last year. I could be wrong but it feels like they have released a lot more of each type of flashback card (other than 2nd half which wasn't in 20) so I think these #s may increase for this year. Also I'm going to redownload 20 tomorrow so i can see how many of each type there were because I think a % of each type needed would be a better indicator.

All Star needed 20/38
Rookie needed 20/36
Awards 15/80
Topps Now 15/45
Postseason 15/68 (the overall for this group is inflated due to the 42 2020 postseason cards they released throughout the playoffs not sure if they do that again this year)
Face of the Franchise (FotF) 30/60 for this one you needed to collect half of the cards that were released in TA 1 & 3
Veteran 20/33
Breakout 20/36
Prime 15/49
Sig 8/60
Future Stars 30/45 this was fairly easy as there were 30 released in TA2
Wander Franco 21/29 you needed to collect 21 of the 29 diamond prospects releasedMonthly Awards or POTM 15/42
Finest 15/58 this was fairly easy as 30 were released in TA4
HRD & Players League were their own promos. Covers were in the XP chain.
As I mentioned I expect the # of cards needed for each type to increase. For instance through the whole course of last year's game there were 36 total "Rookie" cards released. Through an inning and a half we already have 31 released.
