He's actually one of the better relievers in the game right now IMO

Thanks for the opinion. Not sure I want another reliever right now. Have Gallegos paralleled at two, and have Hoffman, Hendricks, and Street in my pen.

Personally I’d hold on to him. Good relievers always hold their value, and many times they go up in price over time, and really jump in price when the overall collection reward becomes available. Good relievers and catchers are always the smallest pool of players to chose from. Look at the second inning bosses right now, the only one that will most likely still make people’s end game roster is smith. Perfect example is adley rutchman, I picked him up for around 40k, now that his pack isn’t available he’s already doubled in value within a couple weeks. Looking ahead there isn’t going to be a better all around catcher for awhile, if not at all (minus a CAP). He’s a switch hitter with a good offense and defense balance and that’s incredibly rare, posada is the closest and has more offense but takes a hit on defense

I pulled him and ran him in RS when I was in the 600s and sold immediately. Plenty of options right now and could always use the stubs. Wasn’t very impressed at all

then no offense, but you did not use him right imo cause despite his rating, he the best reliever in the game right now.

Cap isn't really an option either. Since secondaries on caps are bugged to behave as Out of position. Your cap who has a secondary at catcher will still fail to catch the ball. The only archetype that has catcher is the Bronze Slick Fielding.

I love that Hoffman card. I just haven't pulled any SD diamonds.

Thanks for all the opinions. I'm going to keep him right now, and see how I do w/ him in ranked and events. Appreciate all the feedback, and it's nice to see a generally good debate w/o too much negativity on the forum.

I've been selling everything I pull so far this year, but have only purchased 2 cards. Wainwright and Hershiser. Those two guys are incredible. Good you are keeping.

I know there is a glitch right now with CAP at catching, my point was more general about typical trends in the game over the last few years. Everyone always has their CAP in 3 positions, catcher, SS, and 2B. I’m guessing at some point they will fix the glitch which will cause the trend to continue. Till then it only solidifies my point about rutchman

I def agree about Rutchman, although I personally like Piazza better. But I don't know that the CAP thing is a glitch. I think the "glitch" may be that they listed secondaries at all. The past few years the limitation of the CAP is that it couldn't play a secondary and if you wanted multiple positions you had to grind out multiple CAPS. I think if we get a fix at all, will only be removing the text about secondary positions

Ya piazza is good, more offense and decent defense. I just like the switch hitting balance rutchman has and at the end of the day even having him as a backup catcher on the bench is a major plus. I think with the CAP they do want secondary positions to work because those grinds to get a diamond archetype are long (minus the sim exploit people are doing) so I think they want the standard secondary penalty, it’s just broken right now. Still waiting for them to fix your appearance resetting every time you check program progress
