I’d say 9 out of 10 have it on & I find that amazing. This isn’t real life where players are predictable. I am constantly abusing people that have the shift on by going to the opposite field. I just don’t get it, Do they not know you can turn it off?

Are they lining up to field a grounder or recover an onside kick?

auto shift shouldn't be on by default, half the people that have the shift on don't even realize you can turn the shift off. Quash made a video about it in 2019 about how its automatically on.

I usually only see it on lower ranks, then every once in a blue moon, once over 700 or so

Personally i think i can say from 100+ games it has saved alot more hits than if there wasnt a shift on. I seen alot less late swings down the opposite field line than balls up middle or hard hit to 2nd base.

I mean other than somebody that wants to bunt which maybe only played like 3 or 4 ppl who be buntin, i dont see myself turnin it off.

If your saying your thay good you can intentionally hit the by down the 3rd base line with bellinger then id say your good enough to just have perfect timing.

I guess on topic -- I actually have auto shift on still. I never remember to turn it off (Even after I say "I need to turn that off"). I get burned once in a while and honestly its usually more because the OF is auto-set to deep and either bloopers fall or singles up the middle score a guy from 2nd because I cant field it and throw fast enough.

I feel like I tried changing shifts before (in game) and it just really messes with the settings for that game (like 1B staying on first with no runner, default DP depth with no one one, etc).

I'm assuming turning auto-shift off in settings still auto-sets the cpu for bunts/DP situations? That was always my concern

It's helped my defense more than hurt it, I'll leave it on. People are constantly hitting right into the shift.

I have mine turned off and use the d-Pad quick formations based off situations. I used to have auto on but with in game timer runs when go to screen to see where fielders are and lost a few games b/c of timer running out over period of time.
