The other thing I'll say that just because your guy is a short stop in road to the Show doesn't mean he is primary short stop in DD. It's whatever the archetype states. In rtts it's what position you decide. It's different for both
That’s just the thing though. In Diamond Dynasty, my player is a primary SS. That’s why I do not understand why he has the gold shield instead of the diamond shield.
Like I said, in DD the hawk is a primary left field and everything else is secondary. Unless I'm wrong on that but I'm pretty sure it is. Then you can't have a ss primary with that archetype. Do you have a pic of the archetype that says you are a ss primary with that archetype in dd?
Not calling you a liar, just trying to help
No worries, I know you’re just trying to help. I’m not sure how to post an image, but I’m 99.9% sure my player is a primary SS with diamond “the hawk” archetype. I will say, as I was grinding this archetype up, it goes from spark plug, slugging spark plug, gold the hawk, and diamond the hawk. When I was a slugging spark plug (which was the silver archetype) my primary position was LF in Diamond Dynasty. However, For both the gold and diamond “the hawk” it is a primary SS in DD
Hmm, I'll have to take a look at mine when I'm at home. I was going off of memory so I dont remember 100%. I thought for sure it was LF primary. I'll look later tonight. If that is the case and it's SS primary, it should for sure be diamond defense. It would not shock me at all if they messed it up, they have messed up so much with this new way of doing road to the Show and diamond dynasty player. I'll check soon and see if there is anything else I can help with
Yep I wouldn’t be surprised either if this was messed up by SDS. I just wanted to see if there was something I missed before I go and call this an error on their part. I appreciate you taking the time to help. Let me know what your primary is for yours. I did spark plug, slugging spark plug, gold hawk, and diamond hawk and my primary positions went 2B -> LF -> SS -> SS. If everyone else has diamond hawk and it’s a primary LF, maybe mine is glitched?

My SS went from Sparkplug - speedy sparkplug - I think gold hawk is next.
SS is my secondary position. My SP went: Painter - something painter - gold professor - diamond professor.
Is yours a secondary SS at the speedy spark plug? When I had my silver archetype, mine was slugging spark plug, and that build had LF primary. However, once I got gold hawk, it changed to SS primary.

Well speedy sparkplug was SS but it just led to Gold Rawhide and that's 2cd base. This sux, I just want my diamond level SS. What did you start with at bronze?

I started with Spark Plug, but I chose Slugging Spark Plug which was a primary LF. However, it led to gold “the hawk” which was primary SS. It says my diamond “the hawk” is also primary SS, which is why I was confused as to why I didn’t have the diamond fielding shield at SS when my player had 90 fielding.
-
So looking at the hawk archetype, I was wrong, it is listed as primary shortstop. The tool shed one that comes with it at the same time you get the hawk is the one that is for left field so I have no idea why you are not a diamond shortstop.
It seems as though when I put it into the line up, it reads as a secondary position without showing it on the line up screen and removes fielding from the build to the same as if you had the player in a secondary position. I never even noticed it before.
I would submit a bug report although I doubt anything comes of it, this whole rtts and dd player is so messed up this year.

From reddit and The Hawk is SS in DD.
Sparkplug
Bronze - Sparkplug - 2B
Silver - Slugging Sparkplug LF - Speedy Sparkplug - SS - Slick Sparkplug CF
Slugging Sparkplug leads to Gold - The Tool Shed LF and The Hawk SS
Speedy Sparkplug leads to Gold - Rawhide 2B and The Spoke CF
Slick Sparkplug leads to Gold - The Dewey RF and The Dart CF
Slugger
Bronze - Slugger - 1B
Silver - Sparking Slugger 1B - Speedy Slugger - LF - Slick Slugger 3B
Sparking Slugger leads to Gold - The Duke LF and Crime Dog 3B
Speedy Slugger leads to Gold - El Ambusador LF and El Nino CF
Slick Slugger leads to Gold - Yo Adrian 3B and The Showboat 3B
Speedster
Bronze - Speedster - CF
Silver - Sparking Speedster 2B - Slugging Speedster - LF - Slick Speedster CF
Sparking Speedster leads to Gold - Cool Papa CF and Man of Steel LF
Slugging Speedster leads to Gold - Sheff RF and The Winny LF

So as we can see there are some positions that do not have a high tier primary which is incredibly odd. Also, you only want to be playing your ballplayer at his primary position in DD, or he will get out of position animations which is also stupid, not sure if this is intended or not. Below is a cleaned up view of all positions and their Gold/Diamond tier archetypes:
Catcher (0) - NONE
First Base (0) - NONE
Second Base (2) - Rawhide/The Fly Chaser
Third Base (4) - Crime Dog/Yo Adrian/The Showboat/Ironman

I said screw it, I deleted my RTTS save, deleted all my load-outs and made just a SP and told my new team I only want to pitch no 2-way stuff at all.
I took my level 92 diamond professor into a RS game last night and pitched 7 innings of no hitter before I subbed him out.
Got the win! -

Thats the only thing I can think of because it acts as though it's a secondary position for whatever reason.

I posted about this the other day and didn’t get any traction. I think it’s a glitch. I also have hawk SS and sometimes his badge is diamond sometimes it’s gold. Even though his fielding is 94 in DD, also have fielding maxed in RTTS. I submitted a ticket to SDS not sure how long that will take LOL.
I did notice it happens more in conquests then ranked.
Hope that helps.

In theory, as long as you have 90+ fielding, you will have diamond fielding. You will see the diamond shield icon under your ballplayer while in game. However, this seems to be glitched in Diamond Dynasty for ballplayers.

Thanks all who chimed in and helped on this issue. I submitted a bug report to SDS. Maybe just maybe something will come of it lol
