It's crazy; last year vs CPU I was demolishing them on HOF and barely winning on Legend. This year, I can barely score 1 run on Veteran sometimes. Hitting feels broken AF to me.

Use throwing meter on defence; no error possible if you’re accurate
This is terrible advice
How so? Using button accuracy/throwing meter I haven't made a throwing error in 4 years that wasn't my fault
Button accuracy is 100% on the user. Meter there is rng involved using the cards stats. Button accuracy is the way to go, not meter.
I was under the impression that that original comment meant button accuracy

It’s way to hard to hit and I’m making errors on a consist basis. It’s unplayable
What errors are you making ? Hitting takes practice. Idk anything about your stats but if your new it’s gonna be tough for some people. I still have games where I hit like [censored] and I’ve been playing since 2014

It’s sad it’s early may and I’m already about to hang this game up...its so random I’m not enjoying it at all...”I’m not into grinding either”

Hitting is different this year. I am going thru a similar adjustment.
Its not broken, and in some ways its better. You have to focus on timing. You get far more leeway from the game if your timing is good.
Also -- because most players are using whole teams of elite hitter cards, hitting is tuned in a way that playing with cards with mediocre hitting stats makes the game FAR more difficult. It can be frustrating until you load up your lineup with diamonds.
Put some time in, in the custom practice mode. Dial up the difficulty and face De Grom or Cole, then pick a junk pitcher to get your off speed timing --- every pitcher with a change up over uses it. I cant speak highly enough of, of practice mode......its a huge help.
Youll improve rapidly, and going back to HOF difficulty will seem easier.
This is how i am handling the adjustment to The Show 21. I hope it helps.
Good Luck and Cheers! -

All the players in DD are all stars. I use "buttons" to throw and can count my bad throws on 1 hand.

This game can be and is really hard. Most of the really good players have a good gaming monitor and modified analog sticks. IMO those things shouldn't be needed to be good at a game but it is what it is. I don't use either but got a new tv recently. If you wanna "git gud"(I hate that phrase), get a gaming monitor
This isn't true,
I am using a 2nd rate 4k TV with the standard controller and I am 10-5 in ranked and hold my own in events.
The elite players are elite because they put in the time to become that. Trying to tie success to a monitor or modified controller is a cop out excuse to deflect why you aren't actually that good at the game

it's the same thing; button accuracy is the name, and it uses a meter.

The only way to win in this game is to buy a high speed, high refresh rate, 4k gaming monitor, along with a wired fiber optic connection. Make sure nobody else interferes with the connection signal so you can get maximum internet speed. You must have a PS5. You also need Kontrol Freaks for your PS5 controller, along with a brand new controller that has tight sticks. Make sure the controller is running on a wired connection to the PS5. You also need high quality gaming headphones so you can hear the hiss of the ball coming to the plate for timing purposes.
Once you have all these things, you can basically beat anyone with a team of silver players because the entire key to victory is basically this: who comes into the game with a better gaming rig?

Monitor makes a world of difference. So much better to play on and that’s from someone with about as good a TV for gaming (by LG) that you can get.
A monitor will not do anything for your pci placement though. You still need to put the PCI on the ball. Having less input lag obviously is a good thing, but it won’t make you a better hitter if your placement still sucks.

You said 10-5 on rookie and veteran like that was good lol. With a 5 ms or lower monitor you’d be 15-0 and playing on all star at least now. A monitor won’t make you a world beater but it will make you a way better you.
Then again I can’t hit on veteran showdowns anymore so what do I know haha.

Good Luck and Cheers!Word. I'm running Ohtani, Trout and Buxton in the OF. Gallo at thurs, Tatis, CAP ar second (just started so still a bronze), Belli at first and Will Smith in the IF.
Slowly working on collections. I only play CPU for the most part. I'm 5-2 in RS (4 wins from quits because I went up on them early and one from a freeze off after the first hit of the game and he just quit instead of waiting).
Maybe I'm just too impatient. I'm not sure. Plus the CPU throws 90% of the pitches low or in the dirt. Quite annoying. I've started my PCI at the bottom of the zone but it's new and I'm not comfortable with it yet.

No. It's far from any cop out. Not everyone lives in these forums. Most people who own this game don't know how much of a difference a monitor makes, and or that people are using control freaks. If they don't do anything why are all the "elite" players using them??? And 10-5 in low ranked isn't good
