Not saying it doesn't suck, and I'd rage to. BUT
The definition of an error is botching a routine play. Major Leaguers do botch simple plays.
That's not defending what happened, as I said I'd be furious to. But this myth that major leaguers don't make dumb simple mistakes is baffling. -

Just lost my first game of ranked in bottom 9th. Chopper to Eddie at third loaded bases looking for double play, botches it. I find it real BS that a major leaguer can’t make that play and costs me the game smh
You going to tell us you havent been the recipient of some BS that went your way and allowed you to win a game?

I mean, they kinda do. Not "very often", but it's not some super rare sight either. The highest amount of errors a team had last year was 121, the lowest 66.
Even if we are being generous and saying half of those errors were on tough plays, that's still roughly 60 games the Pirates had a routine error happen. Far from very rare.
-
Errors aren’t always routine grounders though, so that number is deceptive... it’s a 162 game season, so if a team only has 80 errors let’s say roughly that’s super rare when you consider it’s a 9 inning game, some games go into extra innings also .... So out of those 80 errors how many would be on routine ground balls in the infield ? I would say not many ... I’m just using 80 as an example, just a give or take thing ...

I mean if you want to go that route, a lot of situations are "rare". Guess we shouldn't hit triples, because out of all the hits, how many would be triples? Not many I would say....
How many times is there actually ground rule doubles compared to other hits? Not many I would say....
They aren't as rare as your making it out to be
Just so you know, Eddie Matthews committed 293 errors in his career. that's not exactly "very rare", it's not very "often", but far from very "rare"
For reference, he turned 369 double plays, I guess double plays by 3B are rare? I would say not many happen.... -

Triples , doubles whatever.... that’s apples and oranges bro ... Bottom line is errors on routine easy ground balls don’t happen in MLB that often, and they should be rare in the game... You wanna talk offensive issues, that’s a another topic ...

Ok lets talk defense, Eddie Matthews turned 363 double plays in his career compared to 293 errors. Guess he shouldn't be turning to many double plays in game then, seems to be "very rare"

Ok so now we’re gonna pick out individual players with stats on errors ? Ok let’s go there... Cal Ripken Jr only had 3 errors in an entire season at SS ... Omar Vizquel ties that record...So what exactly is your point ? You point out and individual stat like SEE IT HAPPENS!!! Dude GTFO... How many of that dudes errors were on easy routine ground balls ? Anyway we’re just gonna go in circles, bottom line is SDS needs to make errors very rare on routine play’s, just like in 2019 when it started out as an error fest but they patched it and made it play much more realistic ..... I’m fine with the occasional error, it’s baseball, but let’s not accept routine errors with any consistency or the game is gonna suck...

I was pointing out an individual stat because the OP was using Eddie Matthews, so I thought it was appropriate to use the guy we are talking about.
I'm not disputing that errors should be turned down, I would be all for that. I am disputing your errors are "very rare occasions". No-hitters are very rare occasions, immaculate innings are very rare occasions. Errors are not. -

Let’s just hope they balance it right so we can enjoy a good baseball sim when it’s all said and done... Sounds like pitching is an issue that needs to be addressed number one.... Seems kinda slow, people are saying it’s not hitting the spots either even with a good release...

I understand that infielders make errors. But the amount of errors on slow routine balls is a joke

Last year once we all started having monster teams , they hardly made any errors.. Even on insane plays!! They say it's not real enough. Other side says " This needs to resemble the actual game". Dont mind hangers either..Happens in life. Even with perfect release but the snap might have been off. They need to build a bridge and get over it. This game is dope.. Just getting started at that.
