Speed and Clutch are just from Trout's card and I didn't really take the time to edit because they aren't far off haha. In reality you probably take 5 off speed and throw it onto clutch.
Look I don’t really despise him as much as I did when he was coming up, but saying he was underrated is silly. He’s one of the most overrated players of all time. Is he a HOFer? Sure. Is he underrated? Absolutely not.

That low of power, wouldn't play at 2B unless he had 99 speed. Jackie > Jeter. Cool card otherwise.

He could have slid after making the catch. The flip to the catcher in the playoffs? He was completely out of position and cutoff a throw that was already going to the catcher. Oh and Giambi was safe.

So true. He had a knack for the unnecessary flash... That said, I don't want to sound like I'm hating on him. He's absolutely a HOFer and was a fantastic hitter. Mastered the inside out swing better than anyone.. and always came up big.. smart player.

Oh of course. It’s not his fault. It’s the Yankee thing. If he was a Royal or a Pirate or some other small market team, he would just be another guy that had a real good career. But being a Yankee he was elevated as some kind of deity.

THANK you, if Jeter was a Pirate he would not be talked about NEAR as much. But you know..Nu Yooak, so everything is the best they've ever seen. Great player, but I always though that diving play was 80% hot dogging for dramatic effect

So what exactly are you arguing here?
Don’t look at all the stuff that shows he wasn’t as good as we say. Look at the mythical stuff that I won’t mention. I’m not a hater. What made him a superstar? Honest question.
Was it the fact that the only category he ever led the league in was hits twice? The fact that he never won an MVP? Was it that Mr Clutch hit basically the same in the playoffs as he did in the regular season?
Plus this all started with someone trying to argue that he was underrated. You want to talk about an underrated player, especially a shortstop? His name is Bobby Grich. That’s a man that is criminally underrated and should be in the HOF.

First off...very cool design and careful consideration of stats from OP.
Second, I am by no means a yankee fan, but jeter was the glue for 5 championship teams. He always seemed to be in the middle of it and played under the brightest of lights in the biggest of moments. He also played at a time when highlights were being replayed every night.
So, he is the product of multiple factors that others didn’t have apply to them, many of which were out of his control.
So, I guess put me in the jeter fanboy club. Is there a special sign up for non yankee fans?

Heck yeah dude. People just want to hate on him because he was a Yankee.
"Would he still be this famous if he was on the pirates?" If he won 5 WS and was consistently great every postseason? Absolutely.
Dude was a crucial part of repeated championship success and one of the greatest offensive infielders of our era, anyone who wants to paint him as a "borderline HOFer" or anything worse is just immature and can't recognize greatness beyond their favorite team.

We can quibble over the throw but Giambi was safe. If there was review then, it would have been overturned.
