I just preordered online from JB Hi-Fi back in September and they called me a few days before release to plan a time to pick it up.
Nothing out of the ordinary.
I pre-ordered mine back in Sept of 2020 via Amazon the day preorders were out from the comfort of my home.

You can get a PS5 from a site called Stock X if you don't mind paying a bit extra. It's more secure than sites like eBay, they'll test the console before shipping.

I bought my series x with the help of a discord group. You join the group and select which rare item you’re looking to purchase and then it’ll notify you when that particular item becomes available among many of the retailers. I’ve bought two series x’s. Bought one for myself and then I bought one and shipped it to my friend and allowed him send me the cash via pay pal. Wasn’t hard. Just waited for the notification
I don’t know how to search for groups on discord , I was given a link to this but the name of the channel was either ‘ATR Stonks’ or ‘ATR Stocks’ I don’t recall , and I don’t know how to verify.

Seems a lot harder to get in canada. I only know one person that has one. My wife gave me the money to buy one for Christmas and I tried for a couple months, but at this point I'm just going to wait until I can walk into a store and buy one. It's not worth going through hoops.

I paid an extra $200 to get one off of offerup in December. I didn't feel like fighting against bots. I deal with enough of them in COD.

I follow @mattswider on twitter for the re-stock heads up. It took me a week of trying, but I finally scored one at Best Buy. I used the money I get for participating in an experimental FDA drug trial to pay for it.

Simple 5 step process:
- Get Married
- Have Son.
- Wait 12 years.
- Son won’t stfu about it and wife goes nuts on discord groups etc till she happens to get one after like 300 attempts.
- Enjoy PS5

Call your local Walmart's electronic department and ask if they know when an order will come in. Find out what days/times the truck arrives.Get there the day before and the day of earlier than the truck. They do a number system based off of when you arrive. Stand in line and wait a few hours and you can have a chance. I got mine this way and I tried the other ways

I'm fine with that. It's not worth the time investment right now. I've got a huge backlog spanning several generations I can play in the meantime.

Anyone else try out Wreckfest, that free PS5 game for this month? I messed around with it today, it seemed pretty fun.

I followed Wario64 on Twitter with notis on. Got a preorder through Amazon because of it. Dude knows everything about when something is in stock.
