This should be an incentive to complete collections early.

They're now 2500 lmao
They did raise it and should compensate everybody 1500 stubs for every single one they sold.
Why should they compensate anyone for anything? No need for that.
Because they made you sell it for 1,000 then raised it to 2500.I probably sold hundred of these cards since Friday. You know how much that is. Medium size yikes.
Clearly you made your profit. No need for them to compensate anyone.

So you telling me if you pulled trout today and sold him for 400k and they raised him to 750k tomorrow you wouldn’t feel ripped off? I don’t believe that to be true but okay.

Id call it bad luck and move on.

With the roster update last week, some players have been moved around, with some being added to teams. Since they're new on the market, they often have no active sell orders or are for sale at a high price (going to the thousands of Stubs). This impedes the progress of those of us working to complete the Live Series collection. Remember AJ Ramos? It's like that, but with more cards, currently.
I've compiled a list of players that have been added to live series rosters that have yet to see their prices decrease. This list may also include cards that have been there since day one but are expensive for their rating. If you have any duplicates of these cards, please put them for sale on the market! Let's get those prices down and get our collections done (aside from the roadblock that is Mike Trout, of course )!
- Louis Head (Rays)
- Anthony Castro (Blue Jays)
- Mac Sceroler (Orioles)
- Zack Short (Tigers)
- J.T. Riddle (Twins)
- Tzu-Wei Lin (Twins)
- Jeison Guzman (Royals)
- Kent Emanuel (Astros)
- Scott Schebler (Angels)
- Reymin Guduan (Athletics)
- Elvis Andrus (Athletics)
- Brett De Geus (Rangers)
- Anderson Tejeda (Rangers)
- Kohei Arihara (Rangers)
- Sandy Leon (Marlins)
- Sean Kazmar Jr. (Braves)
- Nate Jones (Braves)
- Odubel Herrera (Phillies)
- Trevor Megill (Cubs)
- Rex Brothers (Cubs)
- Zach Davies (Cubs)
- Jonathan Holder (Cubs)
- Pablo Reyes (Brewers)
- Heath Hembree (Reds)
- Scott Hurst (Cardinals)
- Alex Reyes (Cardinals)
- Ben Heller (Diamondbacks)
- Alan Trejo (Rockies)
- Sheldon Neuse (Dodgers)
- Nick Ramirez (Padres)
- Ha-Seong Kim
Note: A lot of Cubs players and Athletics players are expensive for some reason.
If you get dupes of these cards, or if you got them after you've completed their team's collection, make a sell order for them on the market! DO NOT quick sell them or "sell now" when you get them from packs. There is a bug that makes anything you sell now from a pack quick sold, so be careful!
Thank you!
I’ve been trying to buy up all these cards and sell them to help get your collections done faster, wish me luck
Got like 30 zack shorts sold
-
So you are putting in bids and then selling them at a loss? Wouldn’t collectors get them faster without the benevolent middleman?
-
I don’t care if I take a loss if others can complete their collections without being price gouged.
-
And I’m the blind rhino. If you have to buy at 2500 and have to sell at 2500 then what happens if you don’t? Someone pulls the card from a pack and lists sells for 2500. Once the demand settles the price will go down. All you’re doing is ensuring more people will be gouged.

Can’t we just start looking at the MLB transactions online of the last week.
Won’t it be announced who made the active roster from the minors and we can just buy up those FA cards for when they get updated ????
-
Doesn’t work that way.
-
@theblindrhino said in PSA: Let's Get Those Prices Down!:
Doesn’t work that way.
Can you explain? I mean teams publicize who they called up today and tomorrow. So how isn’t it a guarantee that they’ll be in the next update as long as their still on the team ??
-
If you click on the roster update section. You’ll see a list at the bottom of “added” players. These cards didn’t exist until after the update. If they are free agents they would be transferred over to their team. However this is rare and never the cause of the maxed out buy orders.

It’s says forbidden whenever I try to reply to a specific response. So I just post new comment.

Imagine trying to tell the free market not to make stubs when demand is high....
The fact you think this is a free market makes believe you wore a helmet to school.

Do tell how a system that is based purely on supply and demand without any intervention from the governing body (in this case SDS) is somehow not a free market when that's literally the definition. If you want regulated markets then go look at HUT in NHL 21. It's awful when you pull a card there and they tell you oh that card caps out at 10k when people would be willing to pay 50k for it to complete a set. MLBs system rewards the seller because A) it makes collections harder to do and more of a badge of honor for those that do them and B) why should a player have to sell a card for less then what people are willing to pay?
Guys, I didn't start this thread only to have an argument unfold. Besides, there are buying and boycott campaigns in economics all the time. The proposal I've made even helps offline players, who have less ways to make stubs.
It's sad to say, but when you start a thread you start an argument.

I just bought as many of live series players as possible tonight hoping to flip dupes. I pretty much have every player except for the diamonds. I can't pull diamonds to save my life. I'm thinking of just uninstalling and re-installing to see if my luck changes.

I pulled Reymin Guduan out a pack today. Just as satisfying as getting a dimond

SDS sets market minimums/maximums, and limits the amount of stubs one can "hold".
What about that is a free market to you?
Back to school, son.
Sets market min/max? Clearly you haven't seen the price fluctuations for cards when there's literally none on the market because there is none of that. As for the amount of stubs one can hold is this something you figured out by emptying your bank account in game?
Seems like you're the one that needs to go back to high school and take a basic economics class to learn the difference. Also wearing a helmet doesn't help you learn or anything like that. But it's super useful for dealing with people like you who think they know something about something when they clearly don't so then when I'm bashing my head against the wall wondering how someone can live like that then it doesn't hurt me.
I teach 8th grade social studies and we covered this in our class. Im sure some of my students could explain it. I can post our notes about supply and demand. Technically it is a free market economy as prices fluctuate with supply and demand, we also have the choice of buying or not buying. Think of the markets caps as government intervention. Which happens even in certain instances is still free market economy. Think of rationing in World War 2. In other times of crisis the governemnt has also taken steps to regulate market prices of natural gas and gasoline. Think of price gouging protections but in the MLB the Show those protections are already built into the game.. I can also post notes about Socialsim and Communism. We cover the benefits and drawbacks of both and while in theory they seem great, but when applied the humans over time they always fail.

Trevor Megill has over 1,100 orders for 2,500 stubs. Guess he's our AJ Ramos this year

Big deal. That person sitting at 1100 will probably have him sometime tonight. Just get your order in if you want him, and it's going to get filled.
