Man I I want to do is to be able to play my CAP at catcher

When I made the bronze archetype cap at slick fielding I got the gold 3b archetype route. I leveled him up through diamond but I am still stuck at 3b. I have no option to progress in the catcher archetype. Am I doing something wrong.?
