9v9 multiplayer

The servers can barely handle 1v1. Hell it struggles at 1vC. Lol I don't see this happening anytime soon

I’m more curious if others would want that as a game mode. I know the game lol it can handle keeping my sleeve on my right arm

Too long; baseball is not a great sport for that. Play a rtts game as a LF watching every pitch and tell me it’s fun
-
I don't think it would work with baseball, too much down time.
-
I think 2v2 or 3v3 would be as many people as you would want playing at one time. If you arent pitching defense would be very boring
-
I like the idea. Everyone uses their CAP and plays their position on the field. Perhaps one day on next Gen in the future, but let's wait for them to fix these server issues first lol

2v2 sounds good.Pitcher and catcher. Pitcher pitches. Catcher can throw signs and control defensive shifts. On offense alternate batter hitting, player who’s not batting controls base running. Once they get a handle on 1v1 and more powerful hardware, who knows.
-
9v9 with players being allowed to just roam the field instead of a set starting position like in RTTS...that'd be comical, but to answer your question, I severely doubt it
The more likely is 2v2: one controls the pitcher, the other controls the fielders. Alternate at bats
-
Catcher would have to move the Glove PCI and frame every pitch, throw out runners to make anything Remotely exciting for nonpitchers lol
-
I bet they are working towards it with this ball player stuff. Might see it in 2 years or so. The board members would have to approve new servers though

My guess is not 9v9, maybe 2v2, but most likely challenge based 1v1 CAP stuff. Imagine like showdown and moments, except it’s pvp. You go heads up cap v cap with someone in challenges like get 4 hits in 10 outs / don’t give up 4 hits in 10 outs, enter a game bases loaded get the save/game winning hit. My guess is that’s what they are headed toward with the integration of ballplayer

There was a game like that called ultimate baseball online back in 2005 or so. It took forever!!

Don't forget that the NHL series has done this with EASHL. You play as yourself. If all positions aren't filled by a human, A.I. players join in. I've played that online team play mode since NHL '12 and love it. It is my favorite game mode ever. Only thing is, playing with randoms is hit or miss.

Do we think there would ever be a time when a game would be able to handle this in a baseball game? FIFA does it. 2k does 5v5 and league teams.
It would be AMAZING if we could have our friends ballplayers play on a team against either the CPU or other ballplayers teams online. Just like fifa and 2k. Has this ever been brought up? I’m new to the show.
Prolly not 9v9 but 2v2 or 3v3 would be great one person controls outfield one infield and one pitches then on offense you bat every 3 hitters, it’s definitely about time for it madden and 2K have this feature it’s a must for the show now.

I miss that game. For that time period, it was pretty fun. I remember they tried to rebrand it as Cal Ripken Baseball but it never went anywhere.

Far from the same though. Imagine being in the outfield and you get 2-3 balls hit to you in a game...
Zzzzzzz

Great idea but the connection would be so bad.

Imagine random matchups and add to this non-simmed RTTS experience:
- a human pitcher teammate who decides that beaning every batter will be fun,
- a 1B who decides they want to run to LF before each pitch just because they can,
- watching from the bench all eight of your teammates swing and miss at every single pitch because they’re used to playing on rookie level,
- or if they do get on base, taking an extra step lead-off every single pitch forcing the pitcher to throw over,
Also, what about the bench bullpen and who decides when subs occur?
It’s a nice idea in theory, but anybody who thinks it would work should try out RTTS as either LF or RF and play every pitch as you said.
In a similar vein, I once played through without simming a one-day game (that’s 50 fielding overs) in Cricket 17’s career mode (like RTTS). Fielded two balls out of the entire 300. The first was in the 47th over. That was 2 hours of sitting around waiting before I got to field a ball. Then when we batted I was bowled out for something like 12 runs.
-
As cool as this might sound I really think it would be a horrible idea.

26v26 and all the bench guys can pick their teeth while waiting to go get the call.
MOST INTENSE MODE EVAH!!!!!!
