See, when you use hyperbole it discredits your whole argument. Does this game not reward good swings/pitches enough? 1000% yes.
Most unrewarding game ever? Not even close.Unrewarding games is an interesting concept. Can you think of a game that’s more unrewarding? One might have to set some criteria first as to what someone considers unrewarding, but see if you can think of one.

I guess it hinges on the way we define unrewarding. I would say Fallout 76 is higher in that category. Even if you stuck out all the bugs/issues with the early game, there came a game-breaking bug where someone could just take all the stuff you earned. And Bethesda has no way of knowing who had what, so people aren't getting their hard-earned stuff back. That's pretty unrewarding if you ask me.

good/good 99 mph exit velocity right to the outfielder.....sounds right
to quote someone on this site............"be late, be great"I can attest to the quote. I hit 4 straight late bloopers to win in extras today. Of course, it shouldn’t have gone into extras to begin with. Gave up 3 hits and somehow, 2 pitches found the middle of the plate with perfect release on the corners. Guess the game sometimes works itself out in the end against weaker opponents.

How do you know that the runs you scored weren't off perfect release pitches from your opponent that hung/didn't go where they wanted?
To be clear, I'm not saying it's 'ok" if it happens to both parties, it's still very rage-inducing. I hate the pitching issues more than any other problem this year. It's just very easy to create a narrative that it only happens to you, not your opponents.

I would agree that does suck. I guess there’s a difference between glitches and bugs, though, and a game that’s designed to be unrewarding- a your princess is in another castle type of thing. And I’ve been trying to think of some unrewarding games. I keep thinking of really challenging games or challenging moments in games like the fight against the Valkyrie queen in god of war, but that’s not the same. I remember playing some solo challenges in madden that gave me that helpless feeling and felt unrewarding. . Maybe it’s just sports games that create that unrewarding, helpless feeling.

I would agree sports titles probably are near the top when it comes to "unrewarding", but I still don't think MLB 19 can be classified as "the most unrewarding".
Pitching Rebel is 774-119. Does he lose a game occasionally he should win? Absolutely, but he still is getting rewarded more then he's getting screwed. -

Thought of one I think fits, Anthem is/was more unrewarding. They realized they did not have enough content at launch, so they made it intentionally super grindy so players didn't finish the game fast.

I haven’t tried Anthem but that does sound unrewarding. It’s kind of like why it takes 20 minutes to hit a homerun on rookie in some of these moments. They don’t want us blowing through them. And I do agree that the better you are, you will eventually be allowed some success. But I just finished playing a guy in ranked seasons who had a 0-2 career record. Bless his heart, he was swinging at Kershaw’s curveball as it was being released. He was actually up 2-1 going into the bottom of the 7th for reasons unbeknownst to me. I eventually won because my good goods and what not began to fall, but just because I won, doesn’t mean it was rewarding. But see, we’re getting into the feeling of being rewarded versus actual rewards. But I digress. The game would have been closer at the end if he knew what buttons to push to run the bases. In the 8th, his pitcher hit a soft liner that hit my shortstop square in the chest (I had not seen that before) but then his pitcher got thrown out at third after his next batter hit a laser to the gap and he told his pitcher to run to third then back to second then third again. And in the end, I was given 0 rating points for the victory. I won, but my god, at what cost?

I’m sorry if I don’t understand your reply, but I said I had 4 late hits in extras to win the game. If I was the other guy, I would be pissed. He didn’t hang them because they were good pitches on the inside black.
But yes, pitching this year is awful. Much worse than hitting IMO.

I was referring to before the extra innings. You said it shouldn't have gone to extras because of the hanging pitches your opponent hit. So I assume you had the lead/ or scored before extra innings. I was referring to those runs.

I just get annoyed because I feel like a lot of games, especially in Ranked Seasons, are scripted. I just played a guy who was crushing everything, didn't matter where I threw it. I was hitting the ball hard as well but directly to his outfielders. I lost 7-4. Very next game, roles reversed. I was crushing everything and he couldn't buy a hit, I won 5-0. It's insane!

Pitching Rebel is 774-119. Does he lose a game occasionally he should win? Absolutely, but he still is getting rewarded more then he's getting screwed. While that is true, his batting average on the year is like .376 or something. Considering he is supposed to be the game’s top player, the numbers are still within the realm of “realistic” and hardly “video game”.

I understand that, and it's probably the disconnect of the semantics of "unrewarding". It's still rewarding him enough to make him the top player in the game. So to me, that disqualifies calling the MLB 19 "The MOST unrewarding game".
I'm not arguing that the game can be very unrewarding. I'm saying it's way past hyperbole to call the "most" unrewarding"

Gotcha, had a brain fart. Actually, it was the opposite. All the runs I scored were from hits just over the infield (good pitches inside). Of course when I made hard contact, it was always a lineout. The opponent couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat, except for 2 pitches. Didn't have too many lineouts either. Interesting game to say the least.
