I usually never have an issue with showdown but the final boss mission against Valenzuela is tough. He throws a ton of junk that looks great at first and drops off the plate. Any tips you can give me to get past it before I give up haha.

Also RTTS question, how do you obtain the packs you get as you progress? They're not appearing in my pack inventory for some reason. Thanks

He will walk you to death. Put the controller down and only pick it up when you have 2 strikes. No joke try it

Lmao it’s hard I know. HR are nice but remember it’s showdown. Main goal is to get on base and chip away. Make sure guys are advancing when ever possible. His energy won’t deplete but if you get his confidence down you will see more meatballs

Keep your PCI at the bottom of the zone until 2 strikes. Sit on the junk. Stack the exit velocity perks.

If you’re looking for really good hittable curves/screwballs, you need to look for ones that arc well above the top of the zone to start. Those ones you’re talking about start near the top of the zone but always fall off below the zone or in bad hitting locations. Wait for those hangers that arc well above the zone to start. If you’re comfortable fighting off pitches, do that till 2 strikes.

I usually sit fastball and react to junk, but this was one of the few times I had better luck sitting on junk and almost just letting fastballs go. I was able to “late-great” a few heaters, but this approach worked. I got shutdown on my first effort against him, but was able to win pretty easily the second try.

I just want to thank everyone for their tips. On the first try and finally beat it. I went into the final boss mission down by 5 runs and just chipped away and stayed patient. I stopped trying to pull the ball and just going opposite field and it worked. Thanks again!

I’m not sure what tips I could give. I didn’t have any trouble with him. I had him in an earlier mission as well. I thought he was hittable. Be patient. The screwball rarely gets thrown for a strike and when it does it’s hung.

But who knows maybe I got lucky when I played it.
