I don’t understand the hate with pitching fast. It’s not like you have to step out of the box, readjust your jock, reattach your gloves. What’s the deal?

Do you understand there are strategic tools that can be used prior to pitching? Fast pitching does not allow me to use the tools at my expense like R3 to see where fielding is setup? But quick pitching you get to see where i placed my pci? And for those that use stride batter does not get set back up in time.

I pitched all the way up to college(2 yrs there) and very few guys ‘quick pitch’. Pitching is a dance and takes some time. Now this is a video game I understand but in my experience ‘quick pitch’ is you spamming fastballs and sinkers all game, that’s not pitching. It’s baseball it’s going to take a bit to play the game. They should give us an option before the match 5,7, or 9 innings.
Now ppl who just hold R2 every batter regardless are just aholes. There is no reason for it. I use it seldom throughout the game.

my gripe is with the people that do it every pitch or late in the game when they realize they are in trouble and they are trying to [censored] with you. Im okay with it being used when necessary tho.

Like i said i don't spam R2 unless like you said they spam fastballs and sinkers and everyone knows that's exactly why they do it. Why do you think pitchers with outlier are usually highest priced pitchers?
If they didn't quick pitch and other person didn't hold R2, It's probabally gonna be a better experience for both and will not take as long as they think.

I've read every post in this thread and it's a bad joke. Should there be a button where you can ask the umpire for time? Yes. Is there one? I don't know - someone enlighten me if I'm unaware of it. It sure isn't R2. R2 is the batter freezing the pitcher. That sounds implausible. Let's get an ask for time button if there isn't one, and then if the ump grants time, you can use R2. Pitcher re-sets on the rubber. Go again. That sounds more like baseball.

It's not cheating, but it certainly is annoying. It's a feature that is abused, but is actually really useful when using 4 or 5 times a game.
I will use it just to see where my opponent has pitched to certain batters. I do not sit there and hold it. It is annoying

Oh yeah I've seen others do that but I didn't know what button it was. I was aware of stepping off as the pitcher with a runner on base. Anyway yeah, I guess I would like to see R2 limited to that.

They seem to think thats why they suck. Like if we take a extra 3 seconds to pitch they'll all of a sudden have hand eye coordination

I hold it every time and will continue to do so. I am not going to let you quick pitch me. If you want to get rid of holding R2, I would be perfectly fine with a 5 sec timer in between pitches. Until that happens, you should try and understand why people do it.

I absolutely pitch quickly, I don't need to stare at my screen with bifocals to accurately use the input system of my choice. I also don't want to take an hour playing a RS game. I have many other things I have to do with my life, and while I'm sure Sean 87 is a great guy, I'm not interested in being stuck with you longer than I have to.
Stop holding down L2, you don't suddenly increase PCI placement accuracy by waiting between pitches.
You will not be quick pitching against me, that’s for sure. People have different preferences. If you don’t want a timer in between pitches, then R2 is the best way to make both sides happy.
But when I step off because you hold R2 you do not need to hold R2 after I step off the mound. Not saying you do this but people who hold R2 do it even after I step off every time. Then you got people who start doing it after they are losing or because they can not hit, R2 does not help people hit any better and either does fake bunting pushing Triangle and letting go repeating that until the pitch is thrown, It is all annoying.

Honestly don't mind R2ers all that much when I'm pitching. Bunt dancers are way worse.

Not a problem for me, I use directional. I’m in to men by the way, that’s why I don’t have a wife and kids.
Why you need to Hold R2 if you use directional not like you need to move the PCI.

I have never had an issue stepping of the rubber when someone holds R2. As soon as I see that symbol in this years game of R2 being held I step off. Then my opponent will pause if they can not hold R2. I think SDS need to change how long R2 can be held.
