Roster update nonsense

Is it just me or does moving a players stats +- 10 over just 50 at bats or 30 innings seem a little dumb? theres a lot of players that their attributes were touched way too much for how early in the season it is. Guys like Tatis shouldnt be losing 9 on the contact vs righties just bc hes starting a bit slow against righties. Through his career so far Tatis is a .287 hitter against righties. I get SDS wants the most accurate stats possible but i dont think a -9 was warranted for a guy thats had only 54 at bats against right handers so far.

how about lindor, career 270 hitter vs righties. granted hes started terrible but i dont think he should have 60 contact vs righties

Well I’m no math expert and don’t know exactly how the stats are weighed, but using a rating of 50 as the middle point for a major league player I’d say .270 is pretty close to a 60 rating. It’s not bad but not so much above average

take a look at the update. theres so many examples like this. its way too early to be adjusting guys stats this much

I’m really confused this year with their attributes. I understand last year was on off year, and I didn’t play, so things might be a bit wonky. But in years past, SDS has always insisted that they look at 3 year averages and don’t make decisions based on one month of play, whether good or bad. And prior to 20, they never moved players more than 1-2 pts up or down, occasionally, we would see 3. This update is a real head scratcher for me. Guess times are a changing

Yeah I think they’ve been a bit heavy handed with this one. I know last years updates had quite extreme changes and that was fine with a shortened season but I do feel they’ve jumped in a bit.

There's lots of problems with these roster. I mean one a lot of guys aren't even at their right positions 2 there's still players missing I believe but don't quote me on that one and three some of the overalls are very wonky

Here is another tidbit, they don't seem to update pitcher arm strength. Kershaw, for example, still has arm strength at 75--same as he's had for quite a few years. Now, we all know, or should know, he no longer throws as hard as in the past. I believe Verlander is another. Anyway, when it comes to pitch types, quite often they make stuff up. Kopech, for example, has never thrown a two-seam fastball in the majors--according to the best source for this stuff: brooksbaseball.net

Yup, that's another winner, Lindor's speed. Jose Ramirez is another underrated speed attribute.
