Sony was quick to pull Cyberpunk off the PS store due to the issues which prevented people from playing the game. To this date the game has not returned to the store. Yet we have the same situation here with this year's The Show, sure you can play the game, it's not as broken as Cyberpunk was when it comes to gameplay. However a game which relies on server connectivity is certainly deemed unplayable when the servers have been mostly unavailable almost 2 weeks into launch (early access). I guess since it would hurt their pockets directly they would just rather remain silent.

Agree complete double standard
-
Different situation. The game was literally unplayable. You can play this game. Just rarely
-
I own the PS5 and could play Cyberpunk more than this game IJS when servers are down like they have been as OP said since early access there is literally no reason to play the game because you don't progress and it's a total f@!%ng disaster.
7 year player here just frustrated

It’s frustrating, I’m on year 6 in a row.

They pulled cyberpunk after cd project red told all of their players they can get a refund from where they bought it without telling Sony they were going to make this decision. Sony got stuck with tons of complaints and were forced to offer refunds without a deal in place for cdpr to cover the costs Sony incurred from this. Pulling the game from the store had nothing to do with the broken mess of the game it was, just the fact Sony didn’t want to deal with people buying it to then ask for a refund. Cdpr threw Sony under the bus so Sony just said bye bye to the game. This game is nowhere near the hot mess cyberpunk is

Complete nonsense. CD Projejkt Red put out a public statement saying to request a refund from Sony, Microsoft, Steam and so on. The media then ran with that story. That is the only reason it was pulled. I was turned down for my refund that was only downloaded as were many others before the statement from the developer of Cyberpunk.
.......CD Projekt Red also stated it is asking players who can’t get a refund from the store they bought it from to email CDPR by December 21.
CDPR said that the company will provide next steps for people requesting refunds after the request submission window closes. CDPR reiterated that digital versions of Cyberpunk 2077 will still need to be refunded through their respective platforms.
If you’re unsatisfied with your copy of Cyberpunk 2077, here’s how to request a refund on PS4 and Xbox. Xbox recently expanded its refund policy to allow for Cyberpunk 2077 returns.......

I have Cyberpunk on my Series X and its WAAY more complete and playable that this game.. RTTS is only mode i can play right now and my overall rating keeps lowering, my gear seems missing, my exp and progression just stops building up. This is the worst. Its like a exhibition game demo that has the "full game" layered on top and they aren't connected properly.
-
Cyberpunk sold over 11 million copies and from all the refund cries.. only around 30k were actually requested.

You do realize playing cyberpunk on your series x would have been almost a whole month after cyberpunk released right? And that would be if you got a series x day 1 so your experience with the game would of been after a month of patches. And if your using cyberpunks current status as your reference, thats 6 months later, go ahead and put the show down for 6 months and come back and review it then. When I got my ps5 in January I tried playing cyberpunk and still after 2 months from the games release it was a glitchy mess so I deleted it after 2 hours because it was so bad. So when was it you started playing it on your series x that makes you compare it to a game 2 weeks old??
-
For all of its warts, I absolutely loved Cyberpunk. Can't wait for new content and the PS5 enhancements.
The Show this year is just not an enjoyable experience at all. Because on top of the server issues a lot of the legacy issues still remain.

The show only had a one year, and this year possibly an 11 month lifespan. They don’t have months to fix it...it needs to be good from the get go.

Year 15! I have my original functioning PS2 set up, and put in MLB the show 06 with Ortiz on the cover last week! Wild ride, but refreshing to have some new commentary lol

This is the correct answer.
I will also add that the offer of refunds from CDPR went against Sony's refund policy, which while really bad, meant that they had to create special procedures just for Cyberpunk. I am guessing that they did not like that.
Also, CDPR's refund offer was not limited to a time frame, either in expiration date of the offer or number of hours played. People were literally buying the game, playing it to completion and then asking for a refund. As long as CDPRs refund offer allows that to happen I don't see the game returning to the store.
These are the main reasons that the game was pulled.

I played Cyberpunk on my PC and had zero issues it was a good game if a bit short imho. I think most of the issues were from last gen consoles.

I understand your point, but in reality your argument actually goes in SDS favor. The show has a 1 year cycle, 1 year lifespan/ 1 year development. Within this 1 year of development they added Xbox which they had never done and also had to develop it for next gen. They had a year to design a game for 4 different consoles and get it to where all 4 can play online with each other.
Cyberpunk on the other hand, yes has a longer lifespan, yet they also had 8 years of development on the game. It also had no multiplayer component, so all they had to do was make an isolated game. Cyberpunks release was completely unacceptable an honestly was felt like a major scam in the end, especially as they never allowed reviewers to play the early copies on consoles, just pc so they could get the best reviews possible.
I’m not saying the state of the show is acceptable, but it’s way more understandable as to why there are some issues.
