It did. In the waaaaaay back machine called NES there was a game called Base Wars! It was basically Robots or Cybernetic Humans playing Baseball.
It worked flawlessly. Cyberpunk and The Show... not so much. 🤣

I remember base wars!! That game was absolutely ridiculous!! Lol. Games were like 35-30. You'd fight on the basepaths. Classic saturated NES game

It was sooo much fun as a kid! You could upgrade your robots and give them "powers". As you said, games were 35-50 🤣🤣🤣.
Ahhh, happiness in the nostalgia 😁.

Amazing time to be a kid. The dominance of the NES, Saturday cartoons, and we went outside and actually played with neighborhood kids!!
You had to knock on their doors first and ask their parents of course

Man Base Wars brings back some memories. Nothing tops Baseball Stars though.

This game is honestly worse than Cyberpunk. Cyberpunk at least could be played until it crashed. There were some visual bugs here and there, but I played on a base PS4 and other than crashes, I experienced very little problems. This game exists ins state where every single mode has one or multiple issues that makes it not worth playing. MTO randomly invalidates your game, Franchise makes you unable to download rosters, DD kicks you off so much that you lose progress and rewards, Road to the Show doesn't track progress half the time and prevents you from learning new pitches, and Home Run Derby can prevent you from getting XP all together. EVen core gameplay is messed up: Players will stand other the ball and not move until the ball bounces off their head, baserunners will randomly stop running and wait for the catcher to catch the ball only to do a super slide, pitchers freeze on the mound so they cannot cover the base. This is all in a game that has been out for two weeks. It is unacceptable. At this point the only mode that may not be messed up is custom practice.
