Online baserunning?

Are you not able to advance an individual baserunner anymore?? Seems the only way is to hit L1 which advances all. Where did the little arrow go that you pointed to a particular baserunner?? Am I missing a setting somewhere?
Please advise -
You use the analog stick to select a runner and use the abxy or xo
️ square to choose a base -
But it is not selecting the runner. It does in offline games, but not online

that is a head scratcher. I haven't played online since full release so I'm not sure but i didn't have an issue before hand. -
I only play online ranked and it’s been working fine for me. In face I find the L1 or R1 features to cause more issues so I do it manually lol

Maybe I have a setting off because the only way my runners advance is L1
