I thought not being able to play due to servers crashing was bad, I just learned that we will not be able to go back and do Conquest, Showdown, Moments, etc for 1st Inning credit once the Inning is over. I do not have time in my life to play the game all day every day, and have always counted on being able to go back and finish certain aspects of an Inning after it ended. More disappointment piles up for me and this game franchise. I would never have purchased the game had I known this. I do not recall SDS mentioning this before the game came out.

Are we sure that SDS has not become an EA affiliate? This is the kind of nonsense that has lost EA their reputation.

Now I see why they made the Innings XP based and took away our year long quest for the 5 99 diamonds. Money. SDS simply wants us to buy their packs and pay their transaction "taxes". They are doing it by limiting access to free rewards "by just playing the game" as much as possible.

Basically innings on Call of Duty and like games. Once they are over you can’t go back and get the rewards

Yeah this is a deal breaker for me personally and I probably will not be going to buy another mlbts. It's slowly taking steps into EA territory and I don't buy EA games anymore haven't since 2018.

A battle pass is the reward path that is associated with a new season in a game like COD, fortnight and APEX legends. These passes only run while tge season is active then it goes away. These passes normally cost money to activate or in game currency from the prior battle pass.

Inning programs operate as a battle pass the only difference from 19 and 20 is that they will not leave the prior pass active to complete old mission and objectives.

The new timed system will help old bosses keep their value. It will also mean that early adopters of the game earn rewards used for collections later on in the cycle.

That said I can't change your mind on how you precive this change if you don't like it but I would say is that this is a new approach which DD needed after 2 years of the same structure so give the process some time and allow the full vision to be shown instead of writing it of 7 dYs into it.

Change is hard and grass isn't always greener but if you are not willing to adjust to the changes and fight them you may never know of its better

All about the money? Let's see...

30 TA diamond players (88 OVR)
    Alomar (89 OVR)
    Giambi (85 OVR)
    Davis (85 OVR)
    Pujols (89 OVR)
    Clemente (85 OVR)
1 of 3 first inning bosses (min. 91 OVR)

All of which you can obtain in the first cpl weeks of playing the game in addition to the boatloads of packs you get which can land you more cards.

Tell me a gaming company that will allow you to earn ALL that for free (just put in time) upon launch?

We can knock SDS for a lot of things this year but I really don't think calling them money hungry (beyond reasonable expectations for a company) is one of them. I feel like people who say these things have never played UT's from other games.

    Edit:

Last year I was pretty vocal about the TA stuff early on. You had to be a very above average hitter to complete showdown with any consistency for stage 1 affinities. I beat it maybe once or twice before giving up and playing MTO and doing exchanges to get these cards. This year? Stevie Wonder could beat showdown.

I never said SDS was all about money, I said the change to XP from Stars was all about money. Not letting us go back to previous innings that working people do not have time to complete on time is all about money. I have a few hours at night to play each day, and will not be able to complete the Innings on time without being able to go back and do conquest and moments like I could last year. To people like me it is game breaking. Not to mention that I cannot even play in the evenings because the servers crash constantly. I am at about 65000 XP due to all the problems and limited time. Now I cannot save Showdown or Conquest until after the Inning is over because they will not give you XP for that Inning any longer. That gives people like me "incentive" to buy those cards. Money.

It doesn't take only 3 hours to complete Inning 1. Good try though. It will take me at least 3 hours just to do the conquest map for a whole 15000 XP.

They would not have sold as many copies. They knew that other than fanbois in this thread, it would be unpopular. I knew the problem it would create for people who cannot play all the time as soon as I heard about it. I would not have purchased the game had I known ahead of time.

All bosses last year were available in the 11th inning program so of u didnt get them early in the cycle u could still earn them later.
I like the idea of expiration on inning programs, it help hold the bosses value and make the honus collection more difficult this year for people who dont start early.
I play less than 8 hours a week (about 2 hours a night, 3-5 times a week if im lucky) i have no problem getting thru programs.
Im only about 6 hours in this year and already have 150k xp even with laggy servers kicking me constantly. At this rate i should be done with a week to spare.

I never liked that people who pick this game up discounted in a couple months can just catch up in a couple weeks and be equal to someone who grinded for months.
Not everything can be fair to everyone and i dont think this is going to really hold to many people back in a couple months. The only thing it makes harder is the ultimate collection but it should be really difficult and especially if u dont start early in the cycle.
Still tons of good free cards available without inning bosses so its really not much of a money grab just a way to increase value and rarity of some of these cards. Innings bosses shouldnt be a 3 hour freebie they should be difficult to earn

EA is the absolute worst. I've been pushing the show on Muthead because of how awesome SDS is and how they are the exact opposite of EA. Sad to see SDS becoming more like EA.

The only people who want it to be harder are those that have time to collect all of the cards and do not want others to be able to. Rather selfish. It was plenty hard enough to get Mantle last year. Now, for people who actually work and have a family, it is impossible. I haven't even mentioned that the servers go offline during the hours that I do have to play. I have not even had the opportunity to try to finish anything. I will give you that it might be better when the servers actually work, but right now they prevent me from playing at all. Then the inning will vanish. Lovely.

I miss being able to press L2(LT)/R2(RT) on name/city/stance menus and skipping 10 pages. I wonder why that disappeared after all these years?

I have kids, a family, full time job and only play casually and still have time to complete an inning program. It can be done, but its not easy and thats the way it should be. The best cards in this game should be very difficult to get and should take alot of time.

For those who cant play a ton there are still tons of ways to make a competitive and fun team but shouldn't just be gifted the top cards, they should take time earn.
