For those who have 99 Jackie Robinson, is he good?
-
I am dangerously close to finishing all TA and I bought the remaining cards with stubs from free pack pulls. Is he worth it before I decide to lock in the cards? Thanks.

He’s never been good in my eyes since I starting playing DD in 17. Just a noodle bat. He’s a good pinch runner or defensive substitute.

Completely disagree, in 20 he was a bloop and doubles machine, but the 2B position was also very very thin. Not the case this year with McMahon and Soriano. Based on those two options alone and more to come, Imo JR isn't worth the grind right now.

He's worth it because he's an available 99 at launch.
If youre asking if he'll stay on your team all year? As the guy above said only as a Pinch runner/defensive replacement. (Which hes very useful for with 4 def positions and 99 speed).
Soriano is better at 2nd
Chipper is better at 3rd
Papi is better at 1st
LF will have plenty of options as the year moves on.All of these positions save maybe second will have other great options released.

Well that’s my problem, I had too much time on my hands and am 4 cards away from the JR card, since he plays some secondary positions, I also don’t see myself getting live series done anytime soon

Most cards end up getting taken out of your lineup by the end game, last year I used the LS cards like Biggio and Sheffield until I got better options, I think since I already am there I might as well, not too much to lose.

TBH, you can’t sell the TA cards anyway, and assuming it’s a collection (you get to keep the cards after you collect them vs an exchange where you lose the cards), I say he’s worth it. I have his 88 overall and he does great as a leadoff hitter with sneaky pop. He loves the high fastballs as they are usually gappers or line drive homers. This is all online play btw.

Although I loved his card last year and actually hit a lot of homeruns with him I’m not going to grab him this year. If it was just TA cards I’d do it but I believe you need to lock in the pre order 42s as well. I think you need 8 at about 25k a piece so that makes him a 200k card. This years card does actually look better than last years but I’m not locking up 200k stubs this early. If I’m wrong about needing the other 42s then I would do it if it’s just the TA cards.
