RTTS progression feels SLOW

As an Xbox gamer, this is my first experience with The Show so I am not familiar with how this mode has worked in the past. I played my first 5 hours of the game without even going into the load out section so I had no idea I was even experiencing the bugs everyone is dealing with. Once I finally did discover architypes and perks, I quickly noticed they weren’t progressing and was able to successfully fix the issue using the DD work around many people here have posted. Since I have done the DD work around, I believe my player has progressed “as designed” by the developers (other than the equipment not seeming to add anything).
So here we are at the All Star Break of my first season. My player is a center fielder with a “sparkplug” architype and is leading the league in batting average. Overall I’m playing fairly well, but I have attributed this to me playing on Rookie difficulty.
Here is the question. My base stats (which all started at 30) have only increased by 1 to 3 points so far. Some stats are even still at 30! This is after playing close to 80 games and maybe 10 “training sessions”.
Does that seem right? Maybe my player isn’t leveling up fast because I am playing on an easier difficulty? It seems like the best way to level up your stats is with gear, but I can’t even tell if that is working. I dunno, maybe its meant to be a grind. I was excited to give this game a shot after all the hype it had been receiving. I am a bit letdown by all the bugs and grindy game mechanics. At least the game was free on Gamepass. I would be beyond pissed if I spent $100 on some legendary pre-order addition…

There are guys who are still in the minors although at least AAA after 3 years! I think the advancement system is broken but not sure. It would be interesting to hear from anyone who has advanced even to AAA. When did they call you up? What time of the season? Ect.

The way it is implemented this year, that seems to be the way it is. Your base stats are capped at 50 so they probably slowed it down so you would not hit the cap until you were 4 or 5 years in.
Your biggest boosts will come from the Archetypes and Perks.
Unfortunately the archetype leveling system is bugged for what seems like the vast majority of players. There are simple repeatable missions but they are not counting and therefore you do not earn the equipment packs, Perk packs and Arechetype items that would help your overall out.

I got called up my first year in Aug to the Yankees. Made AAA late July but only there for a week. They made me switch to SS vs 2B but fine by me. They said either play SS or we’ll have to trade you because we have DJ which I thought was kind of funny.

So you just a position player?

They made it slow this year so you rely on lost outs and equipment,... but that system is super glitchy... it’s a whole new system this year and was much better previously

I'll wait for a patch before I start my rtts career. Going to stick with DD and franchise I think for now.

Partial fix for 1 loadout people put your player on your DD squads primary position play 2 ABs back out the go back into RttS just dont sim anything from then on and you should start getting program progress its been working for me since i found out last night.. If it stops working repeat the process but i was able to do 10 games no problem

Yeah - I said no to starting. Was a 2B and then moved to SS. DD still shows as 2B and not expecting that to change

I had to cheat, sort of. I started a 2nd /pitcher player. Started at 72 OVR Was drafted to Pirates, called up after All Star game. Also worked for Washington and Cardinals. Called up first year.

Cant you just change your position in the DD team management?

Secondaries don’t play well in DD at least not right now. So he’s a 2B for me but would love the option to flex him as the season goes on because he’s already a stud and getting better. Plan to start a power hitter archetype next so I can get the diamond power perk and then apply it to this version.
