    MY workaround for RTTS

Ok the good stuff first, this has worked for me for 2 days now and thru yesterday's primetime server outage ect. It has not failed me yet.
So your a two-way player and you are trying to navigate this abortion, this is what you have to do... First, pay close attention to what your upcoming job is in RTTS (pitcher or position), do not play multiple games in a row always go back to the clubhouse after every game. They usually give you the day off the day before and after you pitch a game, remember that. Now we are going to pretend you are about to pitch in RTTS but I think you can pick up the cycle anywhere... So instead of pitching in RTTS go to that BS they want us to play called DD. While in DD change your guy to "pitcher" and figure out a way to get him into the lineup as a starting pitcher or a relief (this part is really wonky, my CF/SP in DD is listed as a 1B 'man and RP. It really does not matter what position you play, they all work for doing the perk system. NEVER change your job from pitcher to position or back in RTTS ONLY USE DD to do this. Now that you are in DD, you are listed as a starter or relief on your squad, go play a conquest or a vs CPU game. I have done both and either works, probably all the DD ones listed works but those are all I have tried. At the end of the game or a single conquest 3 inning game you should get DD perk points towards your pitching archtype. Take any rewards you got coming in the form of packs to open and then leave DD or play another if you want, it sucks though imo. Go to RTTS and then pitch the game your supposed to. After you pitch you should get RTTS points towards your archtype. Now leave RTTS and go back to DD. IN THIS ORDER, Remove yourself from the squad as a pitcher. Then go to your profile (still in DD) and change from your pitcher to your position. Now put yourself in the squad as a position player. Play a DD game and earn archtype points within DD. Once done head over to RTTS and play the 2 or 3 games as a position player that they let you before you have to pitch again. Gain those archtype points in RTTS. Now head back to DD, remove youself from the squad as a position player. Change back to pitcher type in DD and put yourself on the DD squad as a pitcher. Play a DD game as the pitcher rinse and repeat just follow that pattern.

All that said, this game is an abortion. From the horrible digging you have to do to get stuff done or find info to the info you cant even find anymore. The fact that you can be a two way play but NOT really a two-way player is stupid as hell. So my slugging pitcher when he plays CF has power over 90 but when he pitches he forgets how to hit the dam ball and has a power of 40. Because your not really a two way guy, your actually two guys inhabiting the same spot. This is DUMB AS HELL! Really, don't be 2k....just don't. That was the reason why I loved you and hated them....now your becomming one of "them". lol SMH And then when you do it to us....you do it to us this way....with this....abortion.

    On purpose?

So it has been a week and still no fix for not getting archetype credit through RTTS without doing the DD workaround. Which I do and have my two-way guy almost to diamond for both archetypes, currently playing in the majors, called up in August of his first year. I guess I should consider myself lucky I am not having some of the wonkier two-way problems other players have had.
But to get to the point, I think they have done this on purpose.
    It explains the quiet.
History has shown that players will bend but usually not break. Just look at the various things 2K have forced their players to accept as the "new" way to play basketball.
So it makes sense, force a "bug" into the game that brings players over to DD to check it out. Leave it like that for a few weeks so that player anger recedes and people just accept the way it is. Then when you do fix it, you have a whole bunch of new players who will accept DD as something they can play.
While I have had fun with conquest (a little).
    I HATE IT.
I hate.... having this two world bull$%^$.
..having a two-way player that really is not two-way.
..being a great pitcher that forgets how to hit and can't run because I have two sets of stats.
..being in DD with a sub-par guy that NEVER gets above 65 even though I am 75??
..being forced to play DD to gain archetype even after they fix it because if you don't do DD then your only making archetype progress twice as hard. (You jackwads rigged the points system, I see what you did there)
..being put into play that I just really really don't ever want to do.
..collecting cards, I am a 50-year-old man, I just want to play ball and by that I mean I just want to play the guy I created, how I create him in the way I want to play him. I don't need your help nor direction to have fun.
..the amount of wasted time trying to swap archetypes ect I could have played a whole other season by now.
I don't want to play against others who just quit after you bang one out of the park, I don't want to play with a bunch of retired or current players and their "cards". I have zero interest in any of that. And while I admit I have had a tiny bit of fun with conquest, I just would rather not, ever, set foot in DD, ever.

But they are not really giving us that choice are they? Even though they said they would.

RE: i need a tip regarding the pitcher

Name one change they got right in RTTS? The most popular mode. And who the hell are the folks they said have been asking to combine DD and RTTS for years? Seriously I want to meet one of these guys and....

RE: Help with the progression stuff for a non DD player

DD does not work either for advancing your player to gain perks. The whole game is borked atm. And if they dont make a few changes or reverse a few things, the game is borked forever.

    RE: MY workaround for RTTS

Oh and I should add, unlike the other workaround which I am not sure actually works regular, my guy has all his equipment ect. It seems that the only really important things you have to do is make sure you do all your archtype and position changes in DD and then play at least one DD game to "set" it. Once you do that you can then go to RTTS and get credit. The only things you want to do in RTTS is play the guy you set up in DD, don't touch anything else in RTTS.

The assertion, previously made by SDS employees Tony and Nick on the blog post (https://theshow.com/road-to-the-show-feedback-improvements-repeat/) that "a RTTS player should feel like they can freely progress by playing RTTS and only RTTS" is at this time (the day after public release) completely false.

It is not completely false. They were saying how the mode should work when it is not bugged. Progression is obviously bugged but when they fix that bug then there is no reason that a RTTS player needs to venture into DD unless they choose to.

Not totally true. If you compare the missions from DD to RTTS for the same archtype it IS INDEED easier and faster to level up your guy in DD than RTTS. Almost twice as fast actually. It is BS.

@zharperz1984_psn said in i need a tip regarding the pitcher:

From what I understand you will get the chance for 4 and 5 once you reach the majors. But I have only seen one guy do that, most are ending up spending years in the minors. I think the advancement system within a franchise is broken because of the 2way player stuff. If your a pure pitcher or player then maybe you can get to the majors faster idk.

This is something that has confused me. So at one point I tried out the two-way player thing. My centerfielder loadout made my overall 57. My pitcher loadout mad my overall 61. So I am 57 when I field but 61 when I pitch. Getting called up is based on the overall level. So which one determines that? How can the game know when to call me up when I am simultaneously two different levels?

Your guess is as good as mine lol. The whole system is an abortion. Everything is borked from advancement to archtypes to getting called up. I honestly cant think of a game that tried to make a major change like this and got it so terribly wrong, everything wrong.

So dumb. It was someone's brrilliant idea to lock the loadouts to positions, so ot seems any power loadout is automatically a 1B... why did they screw up RTTS so badly! All we needed was better comentary and story! Also, does anyone actually want to be a 2-way player they are forcing us to be?

I make a two way every year on franchise mode and player lock. Before being able to do that I would make a pitcher and a position player for the same teams and run them both at the same time and add their stats.
    So yes.

RE: Lost previous perks and archs

Wow, the devs out did themselves on this one. Ok here is the fix for anyone having this ridiculous issue.

Go to RTTS hit square and start a NEW career. It will then ask which loadout you want. The one that is not showing up for you will now be shown here in this list. Choose the loadout that matches the save game your trying to play. Back out of that screen. Then load save game and enjoy.

    This is just beyond dumb.

    Lost previous perks and archs

So my first guy was a fastball throwing slugging 1st basemen. Got him to diamond and decided to start a non 2 way player which was a fielding shortstop. After playing a year I wanted to go back to my original save. Loaded it up and the position and player and equipment seemed all there but the loadout was just "default" instead of "hitting" and "pitching" which is what it was for that player. In addition, I have no access to any of the cheesyslugger archtypes that I unlocked. It is stuck showing me only the "fielding" archtype stuff I unlocked with my shortstop player.

Anyone have a fix for this? If I cant get those perks back then my main guy becomes useless and I loose 30-40 hrs of time spent earning those perks.

i still haven't seen a single option to pick a new pitch type. I've played 3 full seasons since the patch that supposedly fixed it.

I wonder, are you still in the minors? And you are looking in the "bullpin" training list, mixed in with the "change pitch type (1-3) to "XYZ""?

I am curious when they say xp do they mean the stupid human level that gives us extra packs or whatever when we level from gaining xp doing different stuff, OR is it referring to the xp a player makes to increase skills? OR both?

It's for 1st inning program if your talking about the xp with modified sliders.

So you can modify the sliders in RTTS with no consequences to your RTTS player, correct?

    Sliders and xp....

So I guess yesterdays mini update they made it so using sliders no longer keep you from xp but rather you take a 50% cut.

I am looking for info on exactly what xp are they talking about? Are they referring to xp gain that boosts you game lvl and gives you stubs and cards when you gain a level ect OR are they talking about xp for your player and his ability to gain ability points, or both?

If I dont care about DD am I now free to use the sliders however I want in RTTS with no real penalty??

So waiting on the last two pitches I wanted and finally just got the sinker. I knew this pitch was always in the game from the beginning but the other pitch I want, a screwball, anyone seen this pitch come up in the "add pitch" training ?

    Sneak a 4th patch?

Did they sneak in a 4th patch yesterday sometime? My update notification for it says it did? Any notes on what it broke or what they nerfed? Because my hopes of them fixing anything broke is not very high.
