One note on the equipment not affecting attributes: If you pause the game during the at bat and go to the player card of the batter, it should have a plus and then a number. This has always worked for me. It does not show up on the attributes tab in Ballplayer but is being applied in game I think. It would be nice to be able to just hold left on the d pad and see attributes like years past rather than going through three different screens and pausing the game to see them. Also, what does plate discipline even do if not govern check swings?
I checked and you're correct - the + numbers do appear in the in-game pause menu. They don't appear anywhere else that I can see. But at least they are there so I will edit my original post to reflect that.
Regarding plate discipline - in previous versions of the game, if you successfully checked your swing on a ball, your attribute would rise. That would be a part of getting your OVR up, which in turn can impact how soon you get to the majors, and when you get a starting spot. Also, if you simulated games it would have an impact as well. Granted, it's only one attribute of many but it should be something you can improve via in-game actions. Also on the check swings - I am striking out far more than I have before due strictly to this. Every now and again a breaking ball simply fools me coming out of the pitcher's hand. But now I might as well not even bother checking my swing. And that's just not baseball.
Well I know that plate discipline governed check swings in years past. I remember Ramone saying that they were removing check swings from plate discipline and making it all skill based. So I was expecting that not to even be an attribute but here it is. So I am wondering what function it serves of they removed check swings from plate discipline.

The assertion, previously made by SDS employees Tony and Nick on the blog post (https://theshow.com/road-to-the-show-feedback-improvements-repeat/) that "a RTTS player should feel like they can freely progress by playing RTTS and only RTTS" is at this time (the day after public release) completely false.
It is not completely false. They were saying how the mode should work when it is not bugged. Progression is obviously bugged but when they fix that bug then there is no reason that a RTTS player needs to venture into DD unless they choose to.

I understand your opinion. I've been a consumer of SDS product for over a decade now - I'm sure that this will get fixed. But until fixed, I think my statement is correct. The fact that there are only 4 major game modes - as presented in the main menu - and this one (RTTS) is so completely fubar at this time is appalling to me.

Not totally true. If you compare the missions from DD to RTTS for the same archtype it IS INDEED easier and faster to level up your guy in DD than RTTS. Almost twice as fast actually. It is BS.

(easy to notice from the "Dev Tracker" that they appear to be mostly concentrating on DD and marketplace issues). LOLOL You don't think they were going to worry about the poor guy who spent 100 bucks to buy this broken c@*@, did ya? Priorities. Time to send a message to companies that want people to literally pay them 100 bucks a pop, to be allowed to pay them to play broken stuff they are not legally obligated to fix. Let's talk about the real piracy that goes on. LOL

Look at the dev tracker they are not even talking about rtts mode this is BS

That is not the same as required.
And I would question if it is indeed much faster. Sure you need fewer hits and only need to play 5 innings for the repeatable missions but in DD you are playing every at bat, not just your own. You are also pitching every inning to every batter even if your Ballplayer is only a position player. Meanwhile, in RTTS you can jump from one at bat to the next in a matter of seconds. I can get in a lot more at bats in the same amount of time.
For example if your player bats leadoff in DD you would have to go through 19 at bats just to get to your 3rd at bat with your player and to get your third hit assuming you go 3 for 3. You could rush through a game to get the 5 innings played but you still will be required to pitch to at least 15 batters
Also, DD players are more incentivized to come play RTTS than the other way around because in DD they get no opportunity to raise their base stats. They don't get training opportunities and such.
(all of this is assuming the progression bug gets fixed)

My progression is working exactly as intended after you follow these simple steps. If you go to DD And delete all loadouts and equipment and then recreate them and play 1 conquest 3 inning game or try going straight back to RTTS (have not tried this) then go back to RTTS it works like a dream. I have gotten further in 5 hours today than i have all weekend in regards to progression. Good luck hope this helps!
As far as original post goes i am seeing first base sometimes black when approaching on a base hit.

It's good that there is a work around for those who want it but personally I don't want to jump through hoops to make it work, especially not knowing if it will break again tomorrow.
