You can unlink by doing so in game. This happened to me the other day when I tried to link the game to my ps5. It was like it started me all over. You need to go to your username in the upper left corner of the game menu go to the settings or options there. Not sure because I am not at home right now. But then there is an option to unlink your account. Then you just link it to the MLB, not the PSN or XBX options on the pc.

Anybody tried to create a second Theshow.com account and then link the xbox one to this new one? (maybe it would "unlink" from the main Theshow account with all the progress).
I had a lot of progress, stubs and unlocks on PS and lost everything when linking the xbox one.

You have to unlink your account from you username in the upper left corner of the menu. Then go back online and link the account only to the "MLB" option when you relink your account. This happened to me on Sunday

No. There is only link option in game, not unlink.

Didn’t work. Just gave an error. Can’t recall exactly what it said but it wouldn’t link either system or the original (good) show account.

Tried this numerous times on both consoles. I only get a prompt to link. When myself and several others try to unlink on the site, it errors and immediately logs us out of The Show account site. When we log back in, the accounts are still linked. Trust me, I've tried every suggestion and idea myself or others have posted to no avail. Something is broken on their end.

I’m assuming this is unfixable at this point. The silence is deafening.

Yup. There needs to be significant compensation as well. So much lost on daily login rewards, the daily moments, etc. I mean I have a physical Jackie Robinson edition, so I can't even get a refund from PSN (not that they would do it). I grinded the [censored] out of early release, and now I can't even play.

After sending screenshots and describing in excruciating detail what is actually going on when we try to Link/Unlink accounts, I got an acknowledgement response. "The team is aware of this issue and is currently working to resolve this"

At this point an acknowledgment is better than we were getting, kind of. Who knows what a fix, if any, will be, but hey....progress?

An acknowledgement of the issue at least keeps our sanity for the time being. Thanks for the update!

Same here, got the same response from Joseph after detailling (with pics) the situation. At least we know they are looking into it!

I created a new The Show account and the biggest difference I see is that under this account it shows as "Connected, Current Session" when I'm logged in. That's not the case when I'm logged into my normal Show account with my PS and XBOX accounts linked to it. That's probably a reason why you can't unlink and it takes you back to the login page -- they aren't synced up.

Just in case someone from the support/development team is reading these posts.

Yes, and this is an obvious over-simplification, but it is like they decided on how to sync accounts, tested it internally and it was all great. But didn't have someone afterwards go "Good, now do it 'wrong'. Let's see what happens"

Statistically with millions of people getting their hands on this new wrinkle some were going to inadvertently do something out of the pre-determined "correct" order. And here we are, waiting to see if we are going to lose all entitlements and progress after spending at least $100 on the game.

Yep, completely agree. And I did notice that NOW when you try to link your account it has something in red letters saying "Are you sure, etc" -- something that wasn't there before. It would have also been helpful if the instructions on how to do it properly weren't tucked away in the FAQ. This was pretty important and should have been it's own announcement before the early release.

But ya, now we sit and wait. I'm guessing we're screwed and they'll say "here are some free packs, we're sorry", but I hope I'm wrong. All those years of history...gone.

This is the issue, the "correct" instructions were buried in a FAQ and not in-game or on the site itself. The in-game prompt is go to theshow.com/myaccount and type in the code. I think that's what most of us did. At least some of you guys are getting responses to your tickets, that's a positive development.

So you'd think they'd have backups of their server side file saves. I mean not only were our stubs and transactions saved server side, but all "offline" progress in Moments, Conquests, etc. That's just crazy to me. This combined with the cluster of a launch/inventory wipes in Outriders has made me kinda wary of any live games as service model with no local saves.

I was so excited to play more of this game, but now I feel trapped because I don't want to progress anything because I want my previous content back, and it could be overwritten again. Such a crappy catch 22. I was just excited for double XP weekend day 5 of the daily moments (I definitely was going to start the Giambi grind) and all the other timed content. Hopefully we get a fix soon, because we're missing out on some cool stuff.

I sent SDS an email last night, detailing (accurately) what is happening in this scenario. I said:

I appreciate the quick and detailed response, especially given how busy you all are right now. I have run into an unfortunate issue on the site. I sign in with my The Show Online account and from the dashboard, I can see my stubs, team, game history, etc. However, I have tried to unlink my Xbox account as I'm not going to use it, and the site immediately signs me out. While I'm logged into my The Show Online account, it says that my PSN is linked to the account. When I sign into my PSN account on theshow.com, it says that it is not linked. When I log into my The Show Online account, it also says the account itself is not connected, nor does it say "current session." I'm not sure why this is the case.

I followed the steps of attempting to link my account via the in-game menu with a code. When I input the code, it gives me an error message stating "An error occurred: Platforms match so can not be linked." Last night I was just simply receiving a message that stated an error occurred. I'm at a point in which my The Show Online account states my PSN is linked, however, it is clearly not and when I attempt to link my PSN, I just get an error message. I'm not sure what it says on your end, but at this moment I don't have the ability to link my account as an error occurs every time. I know I'm not the only person with this issue as the subreddit and community forums are littered with individuals with the same issue. I cannot unlink anything as it signs me out and when I do attempt to link, I receive an error message every time.

I also attached screenshots from my end as well.

I just got an email from SDS saying: Hello,

    Thank you for your email.

The team is aware of this issue and is currently working to resolve this. Thank you for your continued patience.

    Hopefully this gets resolved soon!

Anyone have any updates or success before I give up for the night? I've seen more threads pop up about the same issue, you'd think SDS would at least put out a notice telling people to not link their accounts until they can get this under control. Submitting a ticket doesn't help, tweeting doesn't, posting here at least there's a shot someone has a success story to share.
