@Rabid55Wolverine You're right. I forgot I had some perks to open up. Just applied them to my loadout, still only a 75 overall. Still, the player progression is ridiculous, I couldn't care less about the perks, and they don't fully explain why I haven't been called up yet. Going to try with edited rosters and will post an update here.

Yeah I can't speak to the call ups, I haven't really played. I think they are rapidly destroying what was a pick up and play mode that needed fixing, not this garbage they've gone to. They have made rtts an absolute disaster.

I give up. This is ridiculous. There is clearly a huge issue with the call-up system in this game. I’m in my third season of RTTS and I just finished spring training, only to be optioned back to AAA. Again. Really? I play on the lowest difficulty with max sliders + fast play and batting only to speed up the process. I’ve played every single game (simming to the majors doesn’t work) and it seems like no matter how good your stats are, you won’t get called up. Why? In my second season, I batted .607 with 80 HR and 250 RBI. Come on SDS. That alone should be good enough for anyone to make it to the majors in their first season. I even got a couple of hints(!) that my player might get called up soon. For example, they told me I might get called up to help my team in the postseason, to which I replied: “Have you seen my numbers lately?” Of course, it never happened. Two offseasons in a row I signed a contract as an “MLB Starter” just to be optioned back to AAA right after spring training and never get called up. Seriously? The player progression in this game is also ridiculously slow - I’m only a 68 overall in my third season. If my overall is the reason why I won’t get called up then why start everyone with such a low rating??? I don’t believe team need is the real issue either - in most MLB The Show games you can still get called up to the majors just by performing well. Come on SDS. Everything else about the game is great but RTTS is extremely flawed with its player progression and call-up system. I get that the game just came out, but this should have never been an issue. Please fix this. I’m going to have to start over and edit rosters to turn down the overalls of everyone else in my position and then HOPE I get called up because apparently, that might be the only way to do it.
What team are you on? This is my fear currently cuz I do the same, have stupid numbers and am still in AAA on year 2.

@Mr4hunit_PSN I'm on the Mets playing RF. In my organization I'm only behind Avisail Garcia (lol) and he's a 76 overall and I'm a 75. I'm starting a new RTTS as a two-way player with edited rosters to see if that betters my chances.
**UPDATE: I just simmed a few weeks into my third season to see if anything would happen and I finally got called up. Perhaps it was my overall, I had just increased it to 75 - but still, pretty ridiculous that it took that long.

You might have to get to a 78 overall. I had this happen to me back in 19. I had to literally grind out 4 or 5 overall to get called up. Also how well is your player doing in RTTS? It could be that as well especially if the player who your trying to replace in the MLB is playing really good. Also try not to sim try to play every game in the minors.

I finally got called up to the majors, however this was after I added some new perks to boost my player to a 75 overall. After that I simmed a few weeks into my third season and they called me up. I couldn't tell you why it happened though. This could have been an overall issue. Whatever the case may be, it's laughable that someone can post HOF numbers for that long and not get called up. I know many people will have this issue, few others won't. Multiple factors will contribute to your team's decision to call you up, but SDS really should have done a better job at making people understand what they are. They also still need to fix player progression, stats, and their promotion system. In short, too many unnecessary additions to RTTS this year that can confuse people who are new to the game and take the fun out of it.

@Wiems35_XBL yeah that's really unfortunate. I don't know what to tell you. I'm not a big RTTS player but it's really bad this year. Very few people won't have to deal with the issues a majority of us have been facing. Almost seems like some of these things are happening at random.

I’m having the same issue. I’m in my 2nd season hitting like .480 and lead the team in hits, HRs, RBIs, and everything. I gave my player diamond hitting perks and he is still only a 67 ovr. This game mode is super tragic.

3 seasons in. 3 seasons I ran the league over and still in triple a. Trash game lol.

RTTS is total [censored] garbage on this game now. Im on year 2029 and ive been asked to spring training two years in a row now. Batted over .600 and still get sent back to AAA after ST is over. Trash game. If this whats to be expected from now on count me out. Its bad enough the previous ones it was [censored] near impossible to win a world series this one just takes the chance out completely.

I believe it definitely has to do with the overall of the ballplayer. It took me half a season to get to AAA and the next season was a late call-up to MLB so a season and a half for a two way player. I didn't understand none of the archtype and perks stuff until I noticed in my first season in the minors it was already September and usually I would get a call in June so started messing around with the perks and figured out how to finally raise my overall.

I know that this is old, but just for clarification, I can definitely say its not due to overall or stats. My only explanation is its random. I have a closer for the Mets. I have spent 5 years in the minors. 81 overall. 0 ERA in all seasons except my last one (2.63) because I decided to simulate most of the season hoping I’d get called up. Now I started season #6 and I’m still in AAA. I am better than the team’s current closer overall-wise (Edwin Diaz got traded or left in FA, who knows). The team called up some generic player as the closer instead of me. What do I have to do to get to MLB SDS?

You do need you OVR up.
Do your perks, and very importantly, gear up your player. Gear makes a huge difference. I was at 80 OVR just after my first All Star Break. -
Yeah I am not sure how someone could only be a 68 in 3 seasons in triple a. Even without the perks, my guy was close to 75 before my call up to triple a in the first season after the all star break and was then promoted from double a to triple a. Everything is tied to overall.
