So basically, I have been trying to find how to download PS5 version of the game since exactly 10 : 45 am.

At 10 : 45, I came home with the physical collector's edition that I got off Gamespot. Used the entitlement code, then started the install by putting the disc inside my PS5. But only the PS4 downloaded. I then looked around each and every corner of my PS5 to find a PS5 version and... nope. Nothing.

I accidentally downloaded another copy of MLB the Show while trying each and every possible avenue to find the PS5 version.

I had to get a refund, of course. Took me one hour to find the way to call one person that would be able to help, at Sony.

That person told me to delete and reinstall the game and to restore licenses. Nothing worked.

Told me to call SDS.

Tried to do so here, Twitter, Messenger, PMing the dev's, watching videos and still...
I am completely unable to play MLB the show 21 on my PS5 right now, despite having the disc in the tray and the voucher code on the other hand.

I feel completly dumb.

Is it a PS5 disc?? Idk why it wouldn’t be working? Did it install on your PS5 Hardrive or external? You can’t play PS5 games from an external drive so check there if you have one

If you bought the version with the PS5 entitlement...When you hit options there's an option for the PS5 full download (after installing the PS4 version from the disc and redeeming PS5 code in the box). Select that and it will upgrade to the PS5 version. Start the game, select the style and your skill level. You'll have the option to go through tutorials (or not) while the rest of the game downloads.

Be sure to click on your profile and accept the terms of fair play and then all of your preorder goodies will show up.

This is a distribution issue not a development issue. Sony should not be passing the buck to SDS when people call.

Apologies if that came across as backhanded, that wasn’t my intention. Was just letting others who came across this post know

The last thing SDS needs right now is for Sony to direct its problems to them.

Everything is good! It may have helped some people, thats the important part.

As for me. I am still waiting. Hope i will be able to play it on PS5 this week, if someone take care of my issue.

Well, to look on the bright side, at least you got A version of the game to play. Walmart and/or Fedex screwed me over, so I'm sitting here spinning without my Jackie Robinson Deluxe Edition preorder that should have been here 2 days ago.
