Year to year saves
-
So I have some franchises and rtts’ that I’ve been working on for multiple years in my free time from playing other games. Now I can’t even continue them onto just the PS4 version which to me seems absurd. I have put time, some money (from stubs) and effort into playing these parts of the game that made It so fun, why can they not update it for PS4 users to have year to year saves?

They had to restructure everything to make it cros-platform/cross-generation. So it meant starting with a clean slate and no previous year saves.
Doubtless they'll return next year now that everything's rebuilt.

Well it looks like I’ll be sticking to MLB20 then. The only reason I play this game is to play the Franchise I started in...15? And have carried forward ever since...
It’s ridiculous that they took a feature like that out and gave you ZERO options to get it...Not happy!

I feel ya man! I got franchises with rosters that never carried over, got one with yordano Ventura, Jose Fernandez, Oscar Tavares, like a lot of these guys who meant something to me and to the game that we’ve lost and I was able to carry them on in my franchise for years only to be stopped by MLB the Show itself from being able to continue this, seriously saddened by this man.

Save Transfer in MLB The Show 21 (Franchise & RTTS)
San Diego Studio has cut the transfer save feature in MLB The Show 21. You will not be able to carry over your progress from MLB The Show 20 for Franchise and RTTS over to MLB The Show 21. You’ll need to start completely new files this year.
This will no doubt come as a big bummer to players that were hoping to transfer and carry over the saves as they have done for years now. I have several Franchise saves i wanted to play on 21. My RTTS player i started in 2016. -
I also just looked through the roster and found so many bugs and stuff in this game, like I get it’s early release but according to SDS Luis Rengifo of the Angels does norm exist, neither does Spencer Torkleson, Kyle Hendricks doesn’t have a windup anymore, and Robinson Cano and Asdrubal Cabrera lost their batting stances, this game is a waste of money, time, and frankly not the product I was looking forward too, flat out disappointed.

Trixtur I’m with you, I have Ventura and Fernandez and Skaggs and other guys like that too, plus players I drafted and developed over 3/4/5 years that I always look forward to getting into the new game. Really ruined what looked like a promising game for me.
And I noticed a lot of those issues too, the Hendricks one first. And that one is just baffling since they had his animation under “Former Players” in 20 now it’s nonexistent in 21? C’mon...
With the prospects, it may be that they are not in AA yet, but I’m sure there are a few they left out...why, who knows.

Feel that man, I used an OSFM roster in MLB 14 for a franchise and went year to year based on real life (for fun, love the simulation feel) had to add in prospects over the years as the game grew and now I have lost all that for this new game, really bumming me out, hopefully they can make it so you can take rosters from PS4 to PS5 to save people more trouble

Couldn’t have been more disappointed with mlb 21 year to year save transfer. Spent $110 to get one feature I wanted (stadium creator). Only to find no transfer files. With the time put into previous years franchises, looks like this will be the last year I buy until it’s put back in.

It's also a bummer when you remember that when they made the jump from PS3 to PS4, they WERE able to keep the year-to-year save feature. Heck, they were even able to let you bring a PS3 save from '13 to the PS4 for '14. I suppose it's possibly they just couldn't figure out how to do the same for the PS5 launch, but that's still disappointing.
Maybe '22 will give us the ability to bring over '20 franchises over lol -
Yea at this point it doesn’t even matter if they bring it back next year, the entire point of year to year saves is to keep it going.....year to year!
Such a poorly thought out decision....clearly shows where their focus is, and it’s not franchise players.
