I am new to the game (on xbox) and people say RTTS is going to be different can someone please explain to me why people are hating on it so much
-
Only you can decide if RTTS is right for you. Check out the Feature Premiere to see if it peeks your interest.

@SaveFarris_PSN Do you personally like it

Ever since 2016, I'm a DD guy and typically don't mess with RTTS until January or so. That may change depending on how this whole 'Ballplayer' thing plays out, but I'd have to see it in practice before I pass judgement.

I have a hard time with RTTS now because it is so simple to make the majors, there is no real challenge to it. The changes to the way to build the player are very different but the mode overall will be generally the same except the podcast stuff. In ps4 and xbox 1 it will be audio but in next gen, it will have full video for the same thing. I think they made the story lines the same just different approach.

if you like to play online against people, try Ranked Seasons - for many of us it is very rewarding as it is challenging / frustrating

Okay thanks

People seem to hate it in recent years (I'm not one of them) because you used to be able to buy stubs and just max out everything at 99 overall, go through a season and hit 200 homeruns, steal 200 bases etc. They made it more realistic with the archetypes so you may have like a 90 in power and only a 70 in speed or something....more realistic. I still like it personally but im more in DD recently.

I thinks it’s to do with how much rtts has changed in terms of progression (“too much of a grind”) or rtts as a whole like it crossing over with DD. Or it could be the lack of content being added to rtts. I’ve been playing rtts for years the last time I’ve really put in hours upon hours in any rtts was in 16. I loved the old school progression in rtts. You earned training points after every game or you spent stubs for training points instead. Now we have training sections and have a cap which stops you from maxing out too early. It takes way long to get to the mlb and it’s a lot harder too get your player to a max 99 in all categories. And it seems it might get even more harder this year in terms of progression from what i have watch in the feature premier. Now we have things like loadouts. But this is all what i think it is. I might very wrong on what everybody is mad about. But generally this is my main concern for this year.

I mainly play RTTS and can’t wait, I’ve been wanting the two way player option for years and won’t need two different players to get my pitching/hitting fix in.
I much preferred the old way of training points and increasing the traits however I wanted, not so much a fan of archetypes, load outs and gear but it isn’t a showstopper.

I’m excited about having the option to be a two way player too. I’m always wanting to be a pitcher but I always end up being a position player instead. Because pitching can get boring a bit. So you get the best of both worlds.

Anybody figured out how to make an RTTS catcher yet?

Try BR too! It’s a blast putting together a team and seeing how far you can go. Drafting is pretty addicting because you just want “that team”.

Ahh yes. Because switching your loadout and going from a power hitter one game to a speed burner the next, is super [censored] realistic.

Easy Duhz it is referring to RTTS18-20 where that didn’t happen.

The general complaint this year is that your rtts player is inexorably linked to your DD cap (created player). As such, you can only have one, whereas previously, you could make as many different players as you wanted, regardless of position, size, shape, etc.

Pretty sure the loadout is more to switch from hitting perks to pitching perks if you do the 2-way player and even then it's still more realistic than the 200HR a year guy.
Lets be real here, no one is gonna sacrifice their power loadout to have their guy play better in the field or steal bases.
