I will say that I am all for inputs being the biggest factor in the contact with the ball but I do think that the pitcher ratings don't take enough into the game. I don't envy the guys at SDS at all. No matter what they do, they're wrong

I think if they were to balance things mostly toward the user they would be totally right and this game would be a huge success. People would adjust or not and new players would play people who like a challenge. You have to remember there are a lot of really good players that really stopped playing the last few years because of the direction the game went. those players would come back.

The "really good players" that left and will come back is a very small minority however. Doesn't change the fact that rng will be different across the 3 different play styles. There is a lot more to mlb the show than the online competitive.

Yea that’s fine- having RNG offline for the non-competitive crowd is fine.

Why is offline non-conpetitive? If I'm an online guy playing offline, wouldn't I be competitive?

Need to have 2 different online ranked seasons.

If there was, it would be very interesting to see how many play in each one.

I’m curious as well

Ranked seasons based on less player input and more simulation would be a dead gametype. They should do it just to see how many people actually play it.
They’ve done this with other games — gears of war for example people wanted specific game modes that most people didn’t play. A small group begged for it. The devs put it out and there were a hot 10 people playing it everyday (it showed how many people were on each server)
Eventually it died out and the real game was able to succeed
-
I accept that challenge. Let them make two RS versions. One of them simulation. And lets see how many play arcade and how many play simulation. Plus it gives the players who get fed up with losing a new place to play. The better joystick jockeys can all play each other.

Totally disagree. Moments and showdowns are played by everyone and should absolutely not be simulation. I don’t want to lose a moment on perfect input because the algorithm determined it wasn’t my time yet.

-1 for moments and showdown here. Not quite everyone

I don’t consider moments and showdowns “offline” play I agree with you I think they should be competitive im talking about playing franchise or RTTS - Modes that don’t effect your online team or online play

I would hope that everything other than online H2H has on option for type. I will play everything competitive, I want to see how good I really am, or if I have been lucky. I know on several occasions even vs CPU I get perfect perfect fly with high power guys hit warning track shots. Showdown was really bad for ripping me off, especially early in the year.

Hopefully SDS has not listened to those of you who only care about winning every game. It is in their best interest to make the cards they are basically selling to you in DD matter. The hype about new legends has to have an in game reward for getting those players on your team. The best players should understand this best. I have already often had the feeling that it really doesn't matter which cards I play, as it doesn't make all that much difference, and that was in '20. I think 21 is going to be much worse, at least online in "input mode".
Cards matter... the proof is when you square up a ball with a card with 88 power and it dies at the warning track and then you square the same pitch, in the same location with the same timing with a 120 power card and it goes out for a homerun...
I’m not a good player and I want input to matter as much as every good player does, even if that means I’ll lose more games.

Ok so lets have perfect perfect always be a home run, but you get no home runs otherwise because that would be RNG HELPING you and we don't want that. We could have this no matter who your batter is. Input would be all that matters.

Squaring a ball up on legend consistently against good pitching is very hard and should be rewarded if done correctly but rewarded differently depending on attributes

I'm talking about vs CPU, I don't care about anything but beating the CPU, give me no RNG, if I fail, I fail. If I hit .700 or .800 you know what I still don't care, if I want a realistic sim, I will play on simulation or play OOTP.

That I agree with.

Squaring up a ball should be hit hard. The problem is the method in which we can square up balls.
