New monitor. Need help

I am needing advice. I recently swapped from a Benq 24” monitor that had a 3-5 ms rate to an Asus 27” gaming monitor that supposedly has 0.5 ms rate. I went from being an ok hitter of around .270-.280 to now being no hit. I am late on anything other than change ups and curveballs. Is there a monitor set up that I may be missing? Any advice on asus settings out there to help?

What you are quoting is response rate and not input lag. Most monitor manufactures slap that “1ms response time” on the box because it looks good. No monitor has that kind of input lag specs. 10ms or lower is very good and most decent monitors will get you that. I’m a big fan of Asus. Here are my settings for my 27” Asus.
Pic mode: FPS mode
Brightness: 80
Contrast: 75
Saturation: 50
Color Temp: Normal
Skin Tone: Natural
Smart View: Off
Sharpness: 60
Trace Free: 20
VividPixel: 0
EcoMode:Off
Shadow Boost:Level 1 -

All monitor calibration settings will be different. Even if using the same type/model. Also Response time isnt something that will make you a better hitter. And listed RT's are very seldom accurate. It is all a marketing gimmick. The thing you are looking for to make you better at reacting to a fastball is Input lag. Anything 15ms or under is great, and pretty much gonna be unnoticeable lag of any kind.
Both those monitors are probably close to the same in input lag. So it could be you dont have game mode or something similar set up on your new monitor to allow it to seem as quick as your old one.

You will want a monitor with HDMI 2.1 (so it can run 4k@120hz in the future), yet there only a few HDMI monitors out right now. They were announced at CES in January, yet haven't hit the market yet.
I did a lot of research in this area, and only found one worth getting, and it wasn't a monitor, yet a TV that was faster than a gaming monitor. It is expensive, yet worth it. It has the speed to be able to hit anything, and the sharpness of the images let's me see the spin on the ball. It is the best of both worlds, and also has HDMI 2.1.

This game will not be running at 4K/120fps this year or most likely any year. Lots of great monitors and tv’s that can play this game and anything else the PS5 or Xbox Series X has to offer. As far as the PS5 goes I don’t think a lot of games are going to be shooting for 4K/120fps. This gen will be a stable 4K/60fps with the ocassional title being able to offer more. I don’t think buying an expensive monitor/tv is worth it at this point.

The game might not support it this year, but it will eventually. Getting HDMI 2.1 right now makes sense as it makes sure that the TV/monitor can last through the whole lifecycle of the new consoles until they do a console refresh in 4-5 years that has HDMI 2.2/3/4 .... whatever the HDMI standard is then for 8k@120 or 4k@240 or 4k@360. Also for Xbox users Microsoft is up-scaling to 120fps.

When playing for performance you want to play lower then the max scale of your hardware not max it out.
