So are you guys going to address matchmaking in 21?

So I thought it may be my internet but cables are good, router is good, qos on, dns good, fiber internet, wired and port forwarding, outside cables good. There is literally nothing more I can do on my end.
Twice in the last 3 games, I have faced opponents where the ball is just a blur and pitch recognition is non-existent. Now, I won these games but it was painfully obvious there was a major difference in pitch speeds. I played minor league baseball and couldn't even react to these pitches. Why in 21 am I not getting a game where connections are top priority? It felt like I was playing way past HOF settings on all star. I am not even going to add the pitches either go down the middle or for a ball and the many other things connections affect. Why do we not have a ping indicator at the pitching screen in 21 to advise of everyone's connection or will we? Green = 75 and below, Yellow = 76-150, Red = 151+. I would even like this for my own information even though every game I play I have a 30 or below ping. Maybe one day my internet is acting up and I am pinging yellow or red.
I understand 20 is on it's last leg but wouldn't this be a huge QOL addition for the future? The majority of games these days have one for a reason. Why not a game like baseball where connections and reaction time is just as important as shooter games?

Probably out of luck man. I wish though. I remember playing MVP baseball online back in the day, and you could see yours and potential opponents ping. But that was the early stages of online gaming. Now they have started to overlook all that kind of stuff and you can match up with someone on the other side of the planet playing on their "neighborhood shared internet". And of course the person with the better connection pays the price because they have to allow your connection to match theirs.

This kind of internet shouldn’t be even allowed to join a game.

You have that info in Fifa before the game, I had always between 10-20 miliseconds, I would like to have that info in The Show.
How does the connection works in Show? In Fifa you have servers all around the world and closer you are to the server, better connection you have.
But I have no idea, how it works in Show, when I'm playing someone from US? -

But I have no idea, how it works in Show, when I'm playing someone from US?I don't think anyone but the devs know how it works. I do know whenever I play someone with New York, Boston, Florida or Chicago (and some others too just not only in these cities) in their name, it is a [censored] show. Can't throw strikes, balls down the middle, players not reacting, players not stealing until the pitchers deliver the ball, feels like hitting with a pool noodle, list goes on and on. Really makes the game not enjoyable at all. Why am I in KC getting matched with people in Florida and Florida's garbage internet or NY sharing wireless with 10 million people? This IS the number one issue with this game. Sure it works fine in the studio when testing. Not so much against Tommy stealing his neighbor's wifi in Timbuktu, Oklahoma.
Connections are the only reason I am on the fence about buying this game. The games I mentioned above are zero fun and really suck out the desire to play. I have played this game heavily online since 2017. I have over 250 disconnects this year because once I see these things happening I know the game won't be fun and I would rather play something else, watch netflix, go to sleep, etc. Anything but playing 9 innings of a game you know you are highly likely to lose not due to your opponents skill but due to their connection. 17-19 I'm not sure I had 50 disconnects combined.

It's weird that you're having those problems. I'm in ottawa, I play regularly vs a buddy in a few different games and never have any lag at all. He lives in Florida.

Try playing online from Scotland. It’s hard work!

I still have a hard time buying into this. I down graded my internet last year when I moved. Fibre isn’t available yet, so I have very average internet. I didn’t become better, and the gameplay didn’t either. Both became significantly worse, not my opponent.
I immediately went from a .330 hitter to a .270 hitter. I went from being a .800 win rate player to less than .500
Bad internet = In game advantage doesn’t really add up when you’ve actually downgraded internet speeds. It’s a completely different game on average internet.

These threads with people saying im from somewhere in the us and i get matched up from someone in a different state make me laugh.
More than 90% of my matches are people from different countries. That said the najority are probably American and those games are generally the ones more likely to lag and you can't see anything. Infact 1 game from someone in Canada I couldnt hit a 84 pitcher on AS it might as well have been Chapman throwing 9 inns couldn't see the ball at all.

Time of day.
weather
ISP vs opponents ISP
PS4's network card
SDS servers at the time
wired vs wireless
Whether or not you are playing your WS game. -
I cant wait for my internet to lag out during mid pitch

Why would it make you laugh? No, I don't think playing someone halfway across the U.S. is fair. I can see the difference in 95 mph fastballs rather easily. So because you play people from another country and can't hit 84 because it looks like 104 there aren't issues for other people? Of course there is. It is the number 1 issue with this game. I don't know if better matchmaking would help if you are out of the country. Matchmaking needs to be better for everyone. There really is no reason matchmaking shouldn't be better in this game other than sheer laziness or incompetence. SDS has to know this is a real issue. It has been an issue for years. I guess if their streamers are playing good the game is fine. You see where that got them on the PS. Got them to implement crossplay for the first time ever in the franchise. More and more people are getting better internet and finding this game just isn't fun.

Major league baseball got them cross play, not Sony.

That’s a fact. About 2 years ago a guy I work with said to me “mlb the show is going to Xbox in 2021”. I started laughing and told him it would never happen.
Then he went on about how his sisters husband works for Major League Baseball and they have something to do specifically with video games — and he told him that they have no choice but to bring it to Xbox or they are pulling the licenses
Mind you I’m looking at him like he’s a total story box — come to find out 2021 it goes to Xbox and of course he saw me and said “remember when I told you...”.
So yea. I don’t think Sony had much of a choice
