I truly believe that mlb 21 has the potential to be the greatest baseball game of all time. I know a lot of people are quite skeptical because of lasts years pull back on inputs. However, it seems like they are really listening to the community like never before. Literally every issue I personally thought should be addressed was addressed in the game. The exception being I really believe foul tips are a problem, HOWEVER I don’t feel like it’s game breaking.
Stepping into the new generation of consoles and introducing our new Xbox new comers welcome to the community. Some or many people actually — really don’t like me. sometimes I’m harsh and others think I “whine” about gameplay, and I do complain about gameplay but I promise it’s not because I can’t handle a learning curve.
Furthermore I don’t mean it to attack any of you personally and I want everyone to have fun I honestly do. So let’s start fresh. I’m going to try to have a more positive outlook and constructive response to some of my ranting.
Good-luck to everyone this year. Excited to get to the next year.
And something someone said to me resonated — being toxic to ppl just because they aren’t good is kind of douchey.
But I didn’t mean it that way. It was more so feeling like I had to defend my position with credibility.

I just sent you a PM on here. Sorry for coming at you the way I did though, this is cool of you. I Shouldn’t have fought fire with fire.
Maybe we could get a good spirited friendly match in once the game launches. Good luck to you as well.

I like everybody except x-wife. But this is a different type of forum and fans. We are passionate about baseball and we fight tooth and toenail in hopes that SDS stays true to who they are. Alot of us "Veteran fans" don't want to witness this franchise follow footsteps of other sports games that don't listen to fans.
While new ideas from other games are always a possibility i think majority want the game to be great regardless what mode you play. But we do have to be able to have civil discussions in order to reach that goal. I have read alot of your posts and can definitely see your passionate with your viewpoints.
I think it takes a big man to admit when they are wrong and takes a big man to forgive as well. Congrats on your nutsack finally dropping.

I’m not sure they really did too much. On pitching it looks like it’s the same, they just showing you now the margin of error. Hitting doesn’t appear to have changed besides check swings. Fielding will probably be the biggest difference with added animations. Need new engine to do much more.

Did you play the beta? The hitting is much better with input being a huge deciding factor in what you get out of your hit. Breaking down the pitching and explaining why it was doing what it was doing was fairly huge though not changing the game so much. The main thing I liked about pitching is when I missed, it wasn't 100% a meatball. It was all over the place which is what should happen if you miss your spots really badly. I'm practicing the pitching in the beta every night trying to get better at it for the new game when it drops. I'd like to be really good at the pinpoint pitching on launch but it's getting me on some pitches.

Every year it feels like the fielding stream is the longest and that it has been revamped. Now that the OF being sucked into hugging the wall animation and the INFs and especially catchers are not lollygagging towards a weak grounder, the D is pretty good as is.

They def did a lot. The pitching was way better no forced misses down the middle well I had one but I REALLY missed so I kind of deserved it. But the hitting was way more fluid.

Yeah here's my image of MLB 21 becoming the best Show ever. Take out DD and online stuff, only Franchise...make the game more of a simulation instead of gimmicks like Perfect/Perfect. Put in Stride timing so it simulates a full follow through like actually swinging a bat, instead of aiming with a target and pressing X like playing a baseball game in the mid 90s. Take out the silly nooby instant homerun cam, I hate that S*^%. Add in about 10 more minor leagues and spring training stadiums. Make it default Legend hitting with pitch speeds at 10 so casual noobs are forced to get better. And put it on PC!!!

gotta have lower difficulties my friend, learning to hit at that level takes practice/experience.
people wouldn't actually learn to hit if forced to play at high difficulties because they'd never learn the basics.
but i agree with stride analog. if people want a true skill based baseball game than that's really the way to play but it's never gonna happen.

Yeah I know, we live in a world of instant gratification.....casual noobs are the norms with sports gaming now...whatever happened to spending 100s of hours learning to get good at something? :). I mean my F1 2016 play time is approaching 500 hours and I still have lots to learn :).

@A_PerfectGame , I respect your opinions out here. Always "thought-provoking", and I appreciate your passion.
Also... I can't wait until April 16th...

If i am not mistaken pitching wasn't easy either. Only time you hit the button was to select pitch, you had to aim it while in the air with directional button if my cob webbed memory serves me right. Or you had to hold button while using directional?

Servers will be the issue like every year for the first few weeks. Especially with added players and cross platform

I am expecting massive issues for launch server side. It's always a problem but this year could be setting up for disaster. I truly do hope I'm wrong though as this could be a great year for the show!!
-
Its got a chance after the bugs are fixed & the servers are fine tuned, then there will be the annual pitch speed debate that has become a right of spring on these forums.
Once thats all done it could be one of the best games SDS has made in a while.

If you only do stride it takes away from user skill and adds too much RNG. That would be more of a simulation style game. If I had to learn stride plus analog I’d accept that as skill based — but not having to place the bat on the ball is too random. Because then we are basing everything off just timing and then from there where do you go? It has to go random.
Stride and directional are very similar interfaces
As are stride plus analog and zone.
