What improvements do you want to see in RTTS for MLB The Show 21?

Stop awarding my player the Cy Young award every game all the way through September!

Thank you it is the most annoying thing ever. I'll win the mvp or throw a no hitter the previous game and they still give me the [censored] cy young. This has been a bug since mlb 17 I believe. This is not a bug that has been in one game. It just goes to show you that they don't really care about rtts anymore.

Double annoying this year as two of my four pitchers won the award.I think I've
solved the problem.I've been running at the upper edge of All Star + for years.Decided to go constant Dynamic Difficulty with all sliders on default this season.Been playing mostly on Legend with 3 forays into the upper edge of Legend +.The differences are interesting between levels. -
Outfield defense is too bored in RTTS since MLB the Show 16 can they bring back MLB the Show 15 second person view in outfield defense ? it is the most realistic. I know it was not perfect and probably they took it out because many players complained. They just have to make it better. I still Play MLB the Show 15 because it is the most realistic version of MLB the Show RTTS. Not only in defense view also when you are hitting running the bases you can see the ball all the time in others version you have to hit a button or won't see the ball.

That's a great question, I would say:
- return of the ball trails from 19, so you can actually distinguish the ball from the infield dirt when you're playing 3B
- also from 2019, show a few more balls traveling down the line, even if they go foul, geez add a little suspense
- better judgment on pitcher relief so the manager doesn't freak out when you're up 2-1 and somebody gets a bloop single on you in the 7th
- allow you to contact your agent when times get really tough
- allow you the option of letting the AI manage your running when you get on-base, I find that difficult and tedious; in the alternative, eliminate the huge lag when changing directions in the baseline.
- add real game accomplishments to Events & Awards, like 4 HRs in one game, Perfect Games and No-Hitters
- cut down on the team personnel turnover that seems to get worse the longer you go into the future, where it seems from one year to the next only one or two daily starters remain
- make available more statistics for your past RTTS seasons - for example, you should be able to access league category leaders and award winners, as well as the World Series results and your team's record, back to 2021
- make it so that the other teams' pitchers don't hit 30 points higher than the other hitters against me
- allow more scoring when the human player gets on base, the AI seems to prefer strikeouts, popups, DPs and an occasional walk once you get on base
- get those guys who waggle their bats out of my pitching meter area!
- leave the hitting info up longer once you leave the box
Regarding number 5, you can do this already. If you go into gameplay settings you can turn off base running or set it to only when you’re the lead runner. Etc

If you have ever played rocket league there is a feature that locks on to ball cam. This could be beneficial when fielding and baserunning.
Batting has showtime feature maybe something to that effect where only use it a few times per game maybe?

- Can you Fix when you strike out almost always the catcher through to first that is no realistic.
- When you hit a Home run without runners on base and get to the first base he stop waiting to see if it the ball is going to stay in the park when he should keep running.
- When you strike out the expression he makes to me it doesn't make sense. That expression is only valid if you strike out without swinging and the throw looks like a ball but he makes the same expression always.
- Add the options of third, second and first person view for outfield and infield defense to make the game more realistic and challenging like The Show 15. After The show 15 outfield defense is too boring.
- Add the option to save your player so you don't have to create it again on the new MLB the Show the next year. I know you can continue from the last year but if you to start from the beginning you have to create your player again.
- Add the option to upload a photo to create your player.
- Make MLB the Show for VR
- Add an option to add your last name audio as my is not on the database

Hold L2 and press d-pad direction to send runner to another base on his way to 1st.
-
What would second person view look like?
5 and 6 yes please.
- How would the announcers then say it? Each name is a pre-recorded sound bite.
-
I really hope they allow us to toggle dynamic challenges off this year. I haven’t bought the game since 2019 because of them and I’ve been playing my career since 2014 using yearly save import. Chose to finish the career on RTTS 18, but it’s showing it’s age.

@ Red Ted As far as number 3 I'm assuming Yoshiken25 is referring to the look the batter sometimes gives the umpire when he swings and misses on strike 3.It's as if the batter is complaining he got a ball called for a strike. He could still possibly give that look if an earlier strike was called badly because then he would be in swinging mode. But I've seen it when the batter swung at all three strikes.
I suppose the batter could still be angry at a previous at bat but that would be stretching things.
Hopefully I understood your question.If not-never mind.
For number 8-probably not this year but AI keeps improving.Audiobooks are know being read by AI(have no idea what the quality is like). -

And legally they probably wouldn’t get away with generating an AI voice that sounds like Matt so it sounds good. So the only option there would be to AI the whole play by play commentary.

Would you be heartbroken if Matty V et al went away?Personally I'd rather see SDS put the money into software that can produce commentary that is non repetitive and appropriate.Of course you shouldn't be able to tell it's AI.

Not at all, I’m all for less repetition as long as it sounds good

Better AI is needed. Current AI makes RTTS unplayable.
-
What would I like to see in RTTS 21? Well for a start, I would like for the mechanics to actually work. That would be great. I have now gone three successive series without a single point in program progression being counted. Meaning I can’t level up perk or get equipment. That is literally the core of the mode now so I don’t understand how it was released without it working. It hasn’t worked properly since Thursday at midnight.
-
When you know you hit a solid shot they need to tell you the velocity you hit it besides on fouls an hr
-
I would love to play RTTS like MLB 20 where you could create as many new players as you wanted instead of being strain to only one freaking player is really annoying and boring if you ask me, don't get me wrong is fun that the emerge the whole RTTS with DD and you have more things to do with your player but I love to be able to have more than player in different positions that's how I always play on my ps4 for the longest and this year the change everything why?? One thing I'm glad that this year I didn't buy the game for my ps4 and I got it via Xbox one game pass for $1 subs which is great bc now I know how much I hated and if they don't fix it won't hurt my pocket bc after the game pass thing is over (I think is for one month) I won't be getting the game.

Curious to know what your thoughts are.
A working progression system & RTTS that isn't integrated with DD! You should be able to create multiple players like last year. It seems like every year this game regresses somehow. I never play DD, have no desire to play DD. I just want my RTTS & Franchise modes to actually work!
-
No integration with DD
Gain attributes from playing and training no Perk/Loadout System
Keep the 2 Way player option but don't force it and let us pick our position/role from the start
No forced online connectivity. One of the good things about RTTS in previous versions was being able to progress and play when the servers were off.
Be able to throw any pitch we want again like the Knuckleball for example because it won't be restricted by DD integration
The podcasts are alright but don't really add that much so ehh
Bring back the Draft Showcase ( Why was this taken out in the first place? )
Be able to have multiple characters and players again like in previous versions
Year to Year saves again starting next year because they won't let you do it when it is integrated with DD because they would be worried that the player would be too good for the start of next years game in DD
Have more training sessions again
Have the money you earn actually do something?
If you have more to add then add it to this thread lets get this started early so they can fix this for next years game
