The Lack Of Real Baseball

Kind of kills my enthusiasm for this game. It just feels more compelling when it is coupled with the real life performances. Rating increases, (especially being a White Sox fan with all the rising talent) playing a particular days real life matchup in play now, inside edge mimicking the real life advantages of certain matchups in real time, and just the overall nostalgia of baseball driving the passion to play the show. This is a pretty darn good game too. I just wish I would have waited until actual baseball resumed to purchase.

What kills it for me is I like to follow the real world and mimic trades, injuries, lineups, uniforms and weather for my franchise games. That's impossible to do now. Oh well, there's always next year.

Same here. I fear this season will never even begin with what was said in today's press conference.

In a way I hope they patch it to match real world schedule...so yeah, spring training was finished last week and whenever in May or June the season starts they patch that in. Or at least give us that option, you can choose to play a full season or the real world reduced season.

Assuming there will be a season. They're talking about this pandemic could carry into August. I feel that would mean a completely cancelled season

I do get way more pumped for the game when there is real baseball. But I dont mind ratings not changing and definitely dont mind no Inside Edge.

I really wonder what they will do with the content. POTM and (weekly) topps now moments were a big deal last year and with the added monthly awards programs it seemed to be an important part of the content this year.

Maybe they can do a sim of the season until it starts. And use the sim stats to pick Topps Now moments and PotM cards?
